BUG: discussion search results don't link to exact comment page

PROBLEM
When searching the site, if the keyword is in a comment, the search result links to the topic header rather than the exact comment. If there are multiple comment pages, it's nearly impossible to find the exact comment.

EXAMPLE
I searched for ACA and got a result for: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/89032. The keyword is not on the first comment page, and there are 16 of them!

SOLUTION
No need to implement comment-by-comment linking. If the search results could just be so kind to take us to the right page, we could easily use the browser to find the keyword on the page.

Cheers,
André

  • Hi, I have a similar question.

On a multiple page thread, and clicking via the live feed or my comments page, it does not link to the exact page/comment. Instead takes to the first page of the thread. Ie: the Asus tablet page, click last comment, makes to first page.
