      Monster hunter has it's own fanbase, most gamer that I know that never play monhun before, didn't like the gameplay.
      I suggest you try the MH world or MH rise that free on PS+ / xbox pass, before getting this MH wild.

          World released 7 years ago, there are plenty Quality of Life updates to help newbie keep up with the story and new monsters. But rarely anyone response to your SOS, so you'll need to play mostly alone.
          Wild released yesterday, most likely you will strugle together with all players. But you can send SOS every mission to ask random people to help you.
