  • 5cent per point such poor value. Come in Amex!

  • Equivalent in $ value in points plus it's able to be tax deductible, if you got an Amex pretty cool, keep getting knocked back bc churner….

my offer says spend $70 and get $20 back.

    • Same - Qantas AMEX

    • the t&c also specifically state that this donation is not tax deductible

      • why?

        • "donors receive material benefit, namely American Express credit"

        Claim it anyway lmao

Another bloated charity with massive overheads and a CEO on US$700k. They claim something like 90c in every dollar goes to delivering, but it’s been called out.

    • Which charities you would recommend?

    • how can we see how much of a donation is delivered to the people in need?
      What is the best website?

  • I'm trying to figure out the info here:

    https://www.acnc.gov.au/australian-charities-report-9th-edit…

It says for medium to extra large charities,
45% - 57% of funds are spent on employee expenses,
4 - 10% is spent on grant expenses,
39 - 45% is spent on 'Other' expenses.

These figures add up to 100% of their funds, so how much of a donation actually goes to the people in need?
Is it the 'Other expenses' that include the amount that goes to people in need?
