Can I swap from boost as new customer

  • +1

Thanks OP, good timing for the oldies boost plan is nearly expired.

  • What does "Sim Expiry date 06-06-2026" mean?

Does this mean if you activate this sim after 06-06-2025, you will get less than 365 days?

e.g. if I activate on 06-06-2025, then I can use the sim for 365 days. But if I activate on 16-06-2025, I will only be able to use the sim for 355 days (because it expires on 06-06-2026)?

You can't activate after 6/6/26. If you activate up to 6/6/26, you will get 365 days.

    • It means if you don't activate it by the 6th, put it in the bin…it has expired..

    Out of stock.

    • Back in. Only 2 remaining at the time of writing though so good luck. Check back regularly, I think they release them in small batches.

Do you have any more of these?. interested

  • Damn it I really wanted this but it’s out of stock now!

    • Back in stock. Only 2 remaining though so good luck. Check back regularly, I think they release them in small batches.

  • Need to hand in the ozbargain badge i paid full price in store just last week for this :(

    • That's the classic Ozb experience imo

  • Back in stock

    • What happens after you use the sim for 1 year? Service gets disconnected?

      • Just like any prepaid service - you have to buy new credit or you lose service. What I do though is port out to another deal (e.g. Boost one month free), and after that expires port back in with Telstra on a deal such as this.

Thanks OP! Bought one. Bye Boost Hello Telstra!

    • Hey, is this store legit?
      Did you get the sim?

      • +1

        Delivery tomorrow, not sure

        • +1

Update: is legit! Arrived and activated.

  • Can an existing Telstra prepay number be transferred to this?

    • No you have to go through a third party. You can use a cheap Voda SIM or find a cashback for a free month or sth and go through that.

  • My experience activating my Telstra prepaid phone was extremely frustrating.

I visited a Telstra store, and they helped me activate my service. However, I didn’t receive any activation confirmation. 1 month Later, I discovered that my plan’s validity was only one month instead of the expected six months. Additionally, I was unable to log into my account to check my plan details—every time I tried, the login process kept looping, repeatedly asking for my credentials without granting access.

I had no choice but to visit the store again. After a long process, they managed to extend my plan to six months. However, my account issue couldn’t be fixed immediately. They told me that a technical support ticket had been created and that I would receive a follow-up.

After leaving the store, I waited for over a month but never received any update. On top of that, I later checked my messages and noticed that my prepaid data had suddenly disappeared, showing zero balance—even though I had never turned on mobile data on my phone.

I really don’t want to waste any more time visiting the store and waiting for solutions. I’ve decided to switch to another provider.

  • 30 (well, 29 now) back in stock.

  • 27 left now.

Where do you guys usually port out to (in order to port back in)? When I buy the $2 sims they ask to do a recharge amount before it properly activates. Any suggestions?

    • +1

Boost have a 7 day / $13 plan that I might go with just for the port out/in. Tbh I haven't done much searching around yet though.

    • I'm using the Boost cashrewards deal from earlier to port out / back in. It was basically a month free.

  • I’m with Telstra now can I buy this and port my number out to another provider and at a later date port number out to this deal? Or do I need to port to this deal from another provider at time off purchase?

  • Anyone bought from them and got the legit cards?
My CC company declined the transaction.

Where do these sims come from? Are they dodgy? Website just doesn't give much info

    • From telstra? They wholesale them no? It's not like anyone else can make them

      • +1

As in from the reseller/vendor. For example this website reselling them. But I could be overthinking it.

    • They are legit. Have used them before.

  • Thanks Op. Ordered. My Optus contract ends in April, good timing.

  • I’m already with Telstra post pay

Is there a way I can get this & keep my number?

    • Port out to another network temporarily. Any cheap SIM really as long as it's not Telstra.
