Where to buy windscreen wiper blade replacements?

Hi,

I was wondering where it would be cheapest to buy replacement blades (the rubbery part which wipes the water) for my Peugeot 307 (2002 model hatchback). (Are these specific to the model?). It seems it doesn't wipe very clear now and is leaving blurry vision. I am located in Sydney. And also how much would it cost roughly?

Thanks for all your responses!

Also just a quick question would it be cheaper to get it at like say bigw/kmart or SCAuto

I saw Goodyear wipers at Costco for $10 ea.
Size from 15-24" I think. Very good price for good brand wiper I reckon.

  • I got mine from SuperCheap Auto. For an extra buck or two they will fit them. If you have metal backed ones, then you should only replace with metal backed ones as they need the extra support and wont remove the rain evenly across the length of the blade.

    • Mine was the old metal backed ones as well but changed to frameless. Wipes better IMO.

      • Well I can tell you that going metal-free on the rear wiper of a Forester is a dumb idea.

  • Try www.wiperblades.co.uk. Good quality ones, reasonable delivery.

  • SuperCheap Auto all the way. Replaced front and back with Tridons and am really happy with them. Was told not to bother with the SCA brand as they are cheap and nasty

  • I got mine from SuperCheap Auto for around $12 each. You could also try K-Mart.

i bought a pair for my Honda from wipertech. Great quality and all rubber instead of the four metal supports for what they say is a smoother and more balanced wipe. don't know about that but they are very good.

  • As always, go for the Costco ones. They are great and replace the whole thing rather than just the rubber blade. $9.99 and made in the USA. Cheapest around and great quality.

  • The Costco (Goodyear) ones at $10 each are indeed excellent value.
Equivalent design and quality are 2-3 times as much elsewhere.

  • i'm actually quite bemused people would buy blades from the UK

    supercheat repco autobarn etc.

A month or two ago I replaced all the wipers on my car - 2 on the front and 1 on the rear - and found that I was better off buying them from the UK.

      Why? Well:
      - no one in Australia (other than dealer of course) stocked my rear wiper size
      - for less than the price of the 2 Tridon front wiper blades from Supercheap/Repco (can't remember which store), I could get all 3 wiper blades from the UK, including delivery
      - the UK-sourced ones were Bosch Aerotwin-branded (and awarded Best Buy in the 2012 Auto Express Wiper Test)

Sure, you can argue the last point might just be pure marketing smoke and the Tridons might well have equal real-world performance, but for me is still a feel-good factor.

In the end it was a no-brainer for my circumstance.

ah is right. I'm actually quite bemused why Australians buy any auto parts onshore? It's always cheaper to source autoparts offshore (US/Europe) and you get better quality than the cheap crap sold in Australia

  • as stated above
    wiperblades.co.uk

    cheaper than anywhere in Australia

Best blades are the bosch aerotwins

  • Buy them from Repco!! 30% off this weekend with Show Your Card and Save. RACV, NRMA etc
