The battery in my HP laptop (model 919700-850) has completely failed — it no longer holds any charge, and the BIOS now displays a warning at startup saying the battery needs to be replaced.
Unfortunately, HP doesn’t seem to offer direct replacements anymore. I found one listing for a "genuine" HP battery on LaptopBatteryExpress for around $78.50, but I'm not sure how trustworthy that is. I've also checked Google, but most of the cheaper compatible batteries have concerning reviews. For example: — people mention problems like the battery not working out of the box, charging to only a fraction of its full capacity, or dying within a couple of months. eBay isn't much better, with a lot of listings that look like counterfeits posing as genuine HP parts. For example:.
Has anyone successfully replaced this specific battery with a reliable one? I’d love to hear where you bought it and how it’s held up over time. At this point, I’m open to both OEM and high-quality third-party options — I just want something that works and won’t fail in a few weeks.
Not only is that a US site, it's also not genuine HP. It says Xtend brand.
Same for the other link, also US and it's 'OEM' which nowadays means similar copy to original.
There's third party batteries on eBay.com.au for <$30 if you just want something to get you by. It should do the job and you have buyer protection if not. Pick a seller that's focused on batteries, has thousands of sales and 99%+ positive reviews.
