Hi-Tech Automotive $19 RWC certificate - need vehicle for entire day from 8am and no availability for 20+ days

as stated in title, cheap indeed however attempted to redeem the SAME MORNING since acquiring the Scoopon but was only told by rude owner this is the busiest time of the year (and yet they decided to launch a deal on Scoopon???)

NOTHING AVAILABLE TILL THE 24TH OF JAN??? (need to wait for 20 days for a Road Worthy Cert when anyone else could do it within 2-3 days…)

asked if I could get on a waiting list and said there are more than 8 customers in front, once stressing its the busiest time of the year.. (fine, still why did you guys decided to offer a Scoopon deal???)

explained how I needed a RWC as i just sold my vehicle (28,000km 2009 VW POLO, near NEW) and was told I still need to leave my vehicle there from 8am and will NOT get it back till the end of the day…nothing he can do, too busy…..

explained how I might be refunding with scoopon since the deal does not suit my need in any way if there's no flexibility in their service and he said get f***** and HUNG UP….

what should I do?

    report to fair trading.
online only as they will not take verbal complaint in nsw
scoopon is irresponsible and will not help
    get refund asap
fair trading will tell you to complain to CTTT
    they cop out too

  • get a refund

Isnt a rwc like a pink slip, $20-$25 and takes 10 mins at most?

    looks like hes in victoria

  • if i used paypal should i get refund via paypal if Scoopon's response is not satisfactory?

  • you might
    check with them
    or any card you use
check with them too as you may be able to dispute the transaction.

  • Get a refund, might have to do a charge back because paypal are quite useless in my experience.

Also from the way you describe it this guy sounds like a jerk. $19 for the roadworthy and probably $500 for a faulty break light, new brake pads etc etc. What i'm trying to say is you should of taken it to your mechanic or one recommended by a friend because most mechanics will try and rip you off especially if it's a $19 scoopon.

    • it is hard to find honet businessmen
      we can only try
      bargains are tempting
      I have been stung before
with grope-on, scoop-off, streaks, and other offal sites which recklessly give you bargains without vetting the business or taking responsibility later when things go wrong.
the dept of fair trading is not itnerested in attacking businesses
the ministers in nsw Illiberally attack the public servants supposed to regulate businesses
      everyone ducks responsibility
they tell you to see the CTTT and fight your own case one by one instead of doing their job.
citizens suffer when they think laws protect us from crooks and spineless pollies. they don't.
I ahve stopped using these sites as much as possible. they are not worth the effort.
ozbargain is a good ethical site run for citizens.
      thank you OB

    • Definitely true. These days people are just too selfish. They do not do the right thing.
What do u expect from $19? Mechanics may charge you whatever they like.
Better go to a trusted and honest mechanics.
