21 for a standard ticket seems quite excessive

$26 at the box office! That's why we created this deal - we buy wholesale vouchers for less than the regular voucher price. That means you save money, and allows us to donate 50% of our profits to charity : )

      • +3

using the hoyts membership u can get it for 19.50. This is not a deal imo

No worries StarPlatinum! We've found a lot of our loyal Good Tix users are happy to give a dollar or two more, knowing it go to helping support great Aussie charities : )

50% of profits from every Good Tix sold go directly to Australian charities.

So how much of the $21 actually goes to a charity?

    • -2

Hi M00Cow, we buy Good Tix at wholesale prices which allows us to give half of our profits to charity. The breakdown of charities is listed here: https://good.film/guide/the-impact-of-your-ticket-causes-sup…. We totally understand the interest in knowing exactly how much is donated, however this wholesale price is set by the cinema and is commercial in confidence. Please know that we've worked hard to get the best possible deal for Good Tix and for hard working Aussie charities!

oh NS, of course you can say how much goes to charity. Amd no doubt you'll ne claiming a tax deduction for it.

No different to the scammers rattling their tins on the streets, collecting for World Health organisation, medicies sans frontiers, save the koalas or whatever. it's just gouging people your own profits on the pretext of doing something good.

I be I could buy my $13-$16 movie tix, donate $5 to a charity and they'd get more and I'd get a tax deduction

        • Not far off. If you looked at basic fundraising prices @ $11/ticket, means that $5 goes to charity and goodfilm keeps $5 as profit

  • The terms and conditions states that Good Tix vouchers are only valid at participating HOYTS cinemas, but the deal title suggests that Good Tix vouchers is valid at all HOYTS cinemas. Which is it, and if it is only accepted participating HOYTS cinemas, where can I find the list of participating cinemas?

    • Hi WookieMonster, thanks for catching this! Great news, Good Tix are valid at ALL Hoyts Cinemas in Australia. We've just updated the terms and description with more redemption details. Thanks again.

  • sign up to Hoyts rewards for free and get cheaper tickets than this. Also just book online and buy a seniors/childs ticket and pay even less.

A lot of places sell discounted tickets without needing any special membership e.g. Shopback has $15.95 Adult tickets or Neat Tickets for $17.30

    • Totally, we get it! We're happy any which way people can get to the movies : ) We've found a lot of our loyal Good Tix users are happy to give a dollar or two more, knowing it go to helping support great Aussie charities. Cheers!

  • Terrible price.

RACV, RACQ, Origin Energy, REST Super, ANZ circle, Foxtel, Uber One have better prices to name a few.
Hoyts even has 10% off gift cards atm and does $13 Tuesday tickets. $10 Sundays if you really looking to save.
Not even a deal, just SPAM

    • -3

Ouch! Spammers don't usually give profits to charity, do they? Can promise you we're real people: https://good.film/about-us

      • Anyone can buy a discounted ticket from a reputable brand and choose to donate to a good cause — where they know exactly how much is going to charity, rather than relying on a vague PR line about '50% of profits donated.' Transparency matters. Dismissing real-world feedback by saying your not spam instead of addressing the actual issue says a lot about how you run your business. There is not one statement on your website about how much you have ever donated to charity. SPAM comment still stands, No Deal still stands.

We agree that transparency matters, CantAffordRRP. We've donated over $80K to 21 Australian charities since 2022 via Good Tix. We're updating our website to reflect this, along with the number of tickets sold. We're a small and passionate team that are genuinely behind cinemas and charities. We're proud of the way we've connected them. If you're keen on more transparency, the 21 charities we donate to are listed here: https://good.film/guide/the-impact-of-your-ticket-causes-sup…. Appreciate your thoughts.

          • @goodfilm: OzBargain is about real deals, not marketing spin. A deal means offering the best price—not just justifying a higher one with vague charity claims. Saying you've donated 'over $80K' since 2022 is meaningless without revenue or ticket sales data to back it up. That’s not transparency, it’s just PR.
Using outdated 2023 articles as proof only makes it worse. If your prices aren’t competitive, no amount of spin will make it a real deal. If your marketing team was actually up to scratch, you’d focus on offering competitive pricing while providing real, transparent charity contributions.

What BS. You really think $21 for a standard ticket is a deal? Really?

    • -1

Standard tickets are $26 at the Hoyts box office ninohax… so, yeah! Please know that we've worked hard to get the best possible deal for Good Tix and for hard working Aussie charities : )

I can get my Hoyts Tix cheaper then this - discounted gift cards, Foxtel, Student Edge, Shopback, Origin and many others. I can even get a voucher from Blacktown City Council via their Green Money Program from points earned to get a 2 of 1 voucher (ie $10 each). Last week, my nephew and I saw "A Working Man" in XtremeScreen and only ended up paying $22.50 for the both of us.

And not to mention that every so many movies I see at Hoyts, I can earn points towards a free movie.
