I saw reviews saying this is better than the dyson. Anyone own this and can confirm.

    • i read the same thing, and wondered about this

    • Unlikely as the Dyson has many useful attachments (for curling, straightening, de-fizz etc)

If this comes with more attachments could be a contender

      • +6

That would be the dyson airwrap im talking about their hair dryer

        • Not the air wrap, the standard Dyson hair dryer has those extra attachments which you can use to get those effects (The Styling Concentrator, Wide-Tooth Comb, Flyaway Attachment, Wave + Curl Diffuser, and Gentle Air)

        • oh I upgraded mine from dyson airwrap to this one from the last deal. and it is definitely an upgrade for me! much more powerful.
my sis uses the dyson supersonic and i feel the experience is almost the same or not worse.

      • Unfortunately this only comes with exactly one attachment… the magnetic nozzle.

But the hair dryer is pretty good. No idea how it compares against the Dyson though.

I have both. Dyson is still better. Dyson can dry the hair faster and has more heat settings.
That said, Dreame gives much better value for the price.

    • Don't have a Dyson but have this and can say for it's price it's very good, unlikely to disappoint.
Only thing as mentioned is lack of attachments if that's something you think you'd use though you're paying a pretty massive premium for it with the Dyson.

Did also get a cheaper variant that came with a few extra attachments, very brief comparison here though not cheap anymore.

    • I have both.

Dyson has more drying features and attachments but for a fraction of the price, the Dreame can’t be overlooked.

Also the Dreame would be great to take when travelling so if it is damaged or lost, it won’t be as much as a bother if it was a Dyson.

    • I have this and it works really well. I don't have the Dyson though, I'm comparing this to japanese hairdryers, the ones with the ion function, like Panasonic.

      • My wife has the Dyson and also a Japanese ion one, and she much prefers the Dyson. Dries faster, and said there’s less frizz.

    • My partner prefers this over the Dyson. This is also significantly cheaper.

Darn missed this deal, I wanted a second one as a backup in the other bathroom ;)

  • Is this lighter than dyson?

Bought this in the previous deal.

It's a good upgrade from a 'regular' hair dryer. Not loud and good temperature options. Comes with an australian plug as well

Thanks OP, bought 20 to "scalp" on ebay.

Is there any aftermarket attachments that would work with this hairdryer?

    • -1

Any of them will work with a bit of duct tape!

      • +1

        Please don't give helpful advise.

  • bought one to try 🤷‍♂️

  • I have both. Both are good. But Dreame is just as good as Dyson for a fraction of the price, and it’s lighter. Would buy another one to spare or taking to the pool trip if price dips a bit more.

  • Thanks for many opinions this vs Dyson, I got a nice working cheap dryer, what’s different this and the $40 one from bigw?

    • about a similar difference as an ikea fork vs 'insert brand name here' fork

or if forks are not your thing…

whats the difference between a 20k SUV vs a 40k SUV

    • Haven’t tried the bigw one but If you do a blind test, with someone blow the hair for you because you can tell by the weight if you are holding one, you won’t be able to tell which one is Dreame or Dyson.

    • My go to hair dryer was a Vidal Sassoon cord keeper and the advantage this has is more even hair drying due to how the air is dispersed, quieter (handy for those who have bathrooms close to bedrooms (partner, or kids), and it's compact size.

  • OOS

    • I bought a discounted Amazon gift card to buy this and come back and it becomes OOS !!!!!

      • 💀

      • Huge L 😂

      • The deal dried up :P

Kmart's version even less ($49) for anyone interested in trying this style of hair dryer
    https://www.kmart.com.au/product/high-power-hair-dryer-lilac…

Just so happens the Mrs liked the colour a lot too!

    • Looks good. Probably give it a try. In the end they all come from China anyway.

Xiaomi H501 I think is similar and about same price on Aliexpress.

H501SE doesn't come with the magnetic attachment which is cheaper at $60.

Been using the H501. Pretty good considering it is fraction of the Dyson.

I have this and I gotta say, there's no noise and has a lot of blowing pressure and it blows my mind. for 80 bucks, it's a steal

  • This or Apple Airpods ?

  • Missed out but this one popped up looks so similar. Anyone know about this one? https://amzn.asia/d/6C8qEEQ

I have a question, is this motor/heater 220V China rated or 240V. Is this SAA certified?

    • 220-240v rated voltage on the box.

  • Received it, pretty slick , not too noisy but I’m smelt like something burnt 🤔

  • Mine have an issue with the plug end. Constantly turns on and off whenever cable moves the slightest.
