They don't stock pile incase of Zombie apocalypse, I asked them (rang customer service) how long from roasting to on supermarket shelf, seems less than 10 days, Vittoria don't want to waste space and money and warehousing , neither do supermarkets, they both want to get stock moved and paid ASAP. Issue with old coffee might be more imported roasted because it's sea freighted.
Do they have the roast date on the packaging?
Are these not usually half price every few weeks in Coles?
The pods haven't been on special at Coles or Woolies since about the beginning of this year.
The $5 special used to alternate between the two stores every month or so.
Example being the organic ground beans for $64 on the Vittoria website are $25 in Woolies this week: https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/804555
The operative word in my comment being pods.
Yes there are some specials on grounds/beans, but they are also few and far between lately.
Look to be 40% off the pods in Wollies….. https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/93221/vitt…
@alfawex: Not for Espressotoria there aren't. https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/829318/vit…
@killergreely: Cheaper in the long run moving away from a machine that locks you in to a particular capsule
they have some varieties that supermarkets don't stock but yeah, if it's one the supermarkets stock, buy when on special.
