      The game is pretty much final just with constant hero updates according to the original dota. The game is free to play, the way steam makes money is through the item store.

        Why do they continue to call it beta? LOL does the same thing and is not considered beta. And if it's free to play, why are keys needed?

          it is still beta because its not finish yet, the accomplishment/achievement still need to be done, there are hero from dota1 yet to be port over, when dota1 and dota2 is exactly the same then they can fully release it
