Hey guys, i'm looking for something around this price. i've been to good guys and been quoted $1029 for this laptop. i want to use it for basic internet surfing, with some occasion dota 2 and maybe other games.

    its ok

    there's nothing about it that screams at me

    very good wireless card… too many supposed high end laptops have crappy n150s in them

    for 15" i'd be after 1,080p for the money

    warranty is skimpy for the price

    To me it looks like a better version of my own, excluding the system memory of 4GB RAM.

    For your purposes, I think it should work well…the only problems may be Windows 8 itself and compatibility with games.

    Do you guys think theres any better laptops for a similar price range?
    because i just found out the video card is infact gDDR3 and not Gddr5 which is comparably slower… god knows why they have so many variations….

    if you can wait, CES is only a few days away where we will hear about all the new goodies coming out soon, like the new samsung series 7 with touchscreen :)

    besides, announcement of new products will drive down the price of the lines currently being sold, so better to hold out

    I bought the same laptop from the Good Guys last week, and managed to negotiate $950 for cash, plus another 4gig of RAM for $75 installed on the spot, making it a pretty good deal! :)

    My intended uses are much the same as yours. What I can say from my experiences so far is that it's got plenty of grunt, and I've had no problems regarding compatibility with earlier games and software. Windows 8 hasn't taken me very long to figure out…the horror stories are from nerds who resist change IMO. ;)

    The laptop looks and feels very well made and finished, unlike a lot of other laptops on the market. Battery life is around the 4hr mark depending on what you're doing. The screens picture quality and colour was a standout feature for me, plus the speakers are amazing. The keyboard is also a gem too.

    I have no hesitation recommending this model,
