[QLD, NSW, VIC, ACT] Team Moto Motorcycle Clearance (eg. '22 KTM Super Adventure S $21995 QLD Ride-Away, Was $31170) @ Team Moto

270

Need a new bike for Easter? Was surfing around looking for a cheap Indian FTR 1200 and found that Team Moto have a pretty decent sale on what appear to be "old stockers" and some decent deals if you dont mind a "new" bike but it's a few years old…

Team Moto serve up KTM, Indian, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Polaris, CFMoto, Yamaha and others… They have road bikes, ADV, trail, MX, naked, LAMS…

Also note that the bike you want may NOT be available from your closest Team Moto dealer. Which is a shame, because ROAD TRIP!!! :D

My picks for good deals, the one in the title for a start… (there are plenty more to pick from). Pricing based on motorcycle being garaged in Qld and includes all discounts, rebates and bonuses.

2022 Indian Scout, was $23,495, now $16,995 ride away ($6,500 off)
2023 Indian Scout Rogue, was $24,495, now $18,995 ride away ($5,500 off)
2023 Indian FTR R 1200 Carbon, was $27,995, now $19,995 ($8,000 off)
2023 Indian FTR, was $23,995, now $14,995 ($9,000 off)
2023 KTM 890 Adventure, was $24,475, now $19,495 ride away ($4,980 off)
2023 KTM 1290 Super Duke DT, was $34,835, now $24,995 ride away ($9,840 off)
2023 Husqvarna Norden 901, was $25,860, now $18,490. ($7,370 off)
And the last example…
2022 MV Augusta Brutale 1000 RS was $45,895, now $29,970 ride away (A whopping $15,925 off!!)

And the list goes on…

Also note that the bike you want may NOT be available from your closest Team Moto dealer.

I believe they will do transfers from store-to-store, might be a fee involved though.

Also note these guys (or rather their parent company, Motorcycle Holdings) basically own half of the motorcycle stores in QLD/NSW/ACT/VIC, (including MCAS, Ultimate Motorbikes, various Harley-Davidson stores, etc) so may be able to search for stock in those stores too and ask for transfer/price match. However there are few creatures on this Earth more sleazy than a motorcycle store's dealer principal so go in prepared.

    Good watch, love Fortnine

  • +1

Looks like this deal is for QLD only

  • +1

KTM is on the verge of bankruptcy!

    • +5

They went over the verge, down the garden path, knocked on the door and offered to sell their soul already a few months ago.
Last news was administrator is talking to a number of parties about the brands and IP.
Likely all manufacturing will leave Europe and be moved to India or China based on who the offers came from.
Problem is KTM have 2 years of bikes built that they can't sell so we going to be seeing more of these fire sales of old new stock.

      • I had no idea they owned Husqvarna and GasGas as well.

That's a huge chunk of the off road/adventure market crashing down

    • Yep, check out the Fortnine vid on YouTube before buying.

  • 890 Adventure 🤔

    • Just have a read on the cam issues… I loved their bikes and even bought a new TE300 recently but I wouldn't touch the 890/901

      • +1

As I understand, the cam issue was only on the 790 & early (2020) 890, and KTM has committed to paying for repairs https://www.motorcyclenews.com/news/2024/october/ktm-camshaf…

I have a few friends with 890s, all fine, but a bit heavy for my riding style

        • Yes I understand that but I don't know about them paying for repairs. I don't know anyone who still owns one but when they first came out it was a blood bath and it took them FOREVER to sort anything out.

        • KTM has committed to paying for repairs

Might get 10% of the repair cost or something if it breaks today though, every owner with a warranty policy will just be another unsecured creditor.

  • where is Harley Davidson deal?

    • +11

A few more years when they go bankrupt and need to sell all the three-wheeled mobility scooters that they call bikes.

    • +1

      Horrible bikes

  • Honda Navi for $2,368. What a bargain mode of transport.

    • Ride away price! A guy a few doors down from me has one and uses it to ride to work. Looks hella fun. Lots of storage and is basically a scooter with a bike body on it.

    • I had one of these until it was stolen by bikies for some unknown reason. Lots of fun for the price. I assume mine will be auctioned by the insurer at some point if you want a house-paint black one even cheaper.

  • +2

Wouldn't touch those ktm/norden motors, google camshaft issues, they are ripper bikes except for that!

    • Most of that was fixed in 2021/22.

But yeah I mean as per other posts the company is in dire straits and I'd be concerned about parts availability anyway

      • +2

Cfmoto is producing the engines under licence so loads of parts available. No issue there.

  • -2

For one sided or one exhaust pipe these are a lot of money!

  • +2

Looks like bike prices have finally entered our solar system.

  • Please note that this price is for Queensland only.

  • +4

you'd be nuts to touch a KTM now. terrible reliability as always but now with the added bonus of the company most likely not existing when your engine blows up to claim any warranty

    • +2

      "Keeps Taking Money"

    • Oh no
My duke just turned 5 and serviced today.
I was thinking of selling and getting something else.
Small, not less than 350, not too big so that I can use it for commuting 30 clicks to work, each way, so decent fuel efficiency. About 10k, 2nd hand. I'm not rich enough to afford brand new.

      • +1

Just buy a dr400 , reliable out the yin yang and you can afford new and just upgrade parts as needed.

      • +1

Cfmoto. The 450mt is selling like hotcakes and if you want to sports version the 450sr.
Reviews are all positive and parts/service is expanding across country.
Cfmoto will likely end up owning most of KTM at this rate.

  • +4

I would wait if you want an even better deal. KTM is dead and Trumps tariffs are only going to ensure that stays the case.

  • +1

Don't buy an FTR.. unreliable out of warranty and a discontinued model…

    • My experience and those of people on local forums/in local Facebook groups differ.

The model being discontinued isn’t necessarily a bad thing either. Probably good for future values. It’s an underappreciated bike

      • I owned one and out of warranty there not great.. TFT failed and was quote $5300 to replace… each to their own, go for it if it floats your bought

  • +9

And just beware Team Moto in general ,
They have some dodgy dealer principals which trickles down to their dodgy salesmen and dodgy workshops from my experience in QLD as a local here.
Not to mention KTM moved a lot of their manufacturing to China for their smaller bikes as well as a lot of parts.
The 890 engine is a victim of bad design not giving the head big enough oil Chanels to lubricate the cams resulting in melting and premature engine expiry, then KTM denying warranty claims and the company going tits up.
Basically the big Austrian got taken over by the bean counters and that was all she wrote.
    Viva le Sherco

    • +3

Yep can vouch, team moto sales and service are the worst. Avoid at all costs.

    • +2

I'd suggest not trading in a bike to them, they burnt me as customer with a truly diabolical trade offer.

  • +5

    I have a story.

A good mate of mine dropped $32k on the 24 Superduke R then a bunch on dealer fitted accessories.

Less than 1000ks in, fitted mirrors started falling off. Headlight came loose at 100kph.
    Keyfob failing to register reliably

Couple of thou later, fuel sender issues showing empty tank when full. Key fob complete failure. Needed tow from a few hundred k’s away.

The bike has been at the shop more than at hos house. They diagnosed ‘firmware issues’ and refused anything but waiting for new fw to be released by KTM.

    Waiting for a tribunal date.

The bike also came with misaligned panels, which sure sounds inane but you drop $30k on a brands top bike and tell me that wouldnt piss you off.

Not a chance on earth I would risk dealing with KTM or TM after sale service. My god, the number of stories I have of my own dealings with TM mechanics, parts, sales etc I could spin up a whole years worth of Youtube content. Traumatic flashbacks commencing.

I friend of mine picked up a KTM 1290 super duke. First week it broke down and needed a new computer.

Sometimes the most expensive brands are the most problematic due to the sheer complexity of them. I am trying to get rid of my fancy electronic everything bike and get something cheap and reliable.

      • Get a Suzuki, they just go and go

  • +2

1290S owner here, great bike, unreal vtwin engine with stonking performance. No cam issues like in the 790/890's
For the money its a whole lotta bike but you need to be doing road trips to really enjoy them.
Covered 2200km in jan, bne->putty rd and zigzagged the GDR over 5 days. was amazing and didnt have a single comfort issue.

  • Rain? yes, no, maybe. Probably. Repeat.

Yamaha yz250 or yz450, when the time comes to major service the engine, replace a high number of motor components, get the EX4.
