Boycott USA
If you can find Premium Pistachios from anywhere else for the same price let me know
@j0hnd0e: Last I checked Afghanistan didn’t upend global markets because of nationalism.
Without going into politics I was just hoping it’s made in Australia
@belongsinforums: I read a wonderful article about how boring life was being a public servant in Afghanistan compared to being a freedom fighter.
@Donmega123: GST is supposed to be paid by the consumer and it also applies to local products. Many states in the US have a similar sales tax. Paying import tariffs does not make US consumers exempt from the sales tax, it's an additional tax.
@punkel: Coles Australian Pistachios $21.33/k https://www.coles.com.au/product/coles-australian-roasted-an…
@plain_biscuit: I get it through Macquarie market-place
+ other places can be found in the wiki (just cmd-f to search for coles)
The only annoying thing is gc's can only be redeemed in-store, unlike woolies.
USA Pistachios are soft and not as crunchy as Aussie Pistachios. Not sure why, maybe not as fresh or irradiated at costumes? like they do with lots of imported food products
Lots of empty shells in the bag I got this week
I wish they would sell them without shells also at this price and also at 1kg. Trying to eat a whole bag at once you get sore fingers after a while, then you end up with the pile of difficult to open ones and a hard choice to make.
The pre-shelled ones I've been getting are from Amazon for about $8/200g bag - they seem to be the cheapest I can find after including delivery.
No idea on the quality vs others.
Would be nice to have options if people know of any for pre-shelled ones.
I use half a shell to open the other shells. You just insert the pointy end and twist it.
Trick is to press them first on the midline so they crack open a bit of course some are very young ones and need teeth to crack them open. But worth it
Same with the bag I got last month. Either theyre not bothering to pick out the empty shells or the packers are snacking at work.
How premium are we talking???
Deez nutz are premium premium
Whats deez?
sigma?
In a nutshell?
The salt only. Other than that, nothing
There has been a significant reduction in the quality of their Macadamias.
They are now the same quality as coles/woolworths. Small and 95% half nuts.
They used to be larger and 30-40% whole nuts.
Ozbargain Mack's like their nuts large and whole, not small and broken.
Agreed. And that isn't all that Aldi have in common with colesworths, if the quality hasn't deteriorated the price jack continues. Their single origin coffee is now up to $23/kg (another 15% increase) and they jacked the chocolate and Scotch finger biscuits by 25%!
Yeah ALDI has really gone backwards, I can't abide having them go through my backpack every time I visit.
Bought it today 600 grams of Pista with shells and 400g just empty shells😂
Tariffs
Good❌ different ✅
whats the weight of the salt?
Becoming $33/kg no shells 🤦♂️shrinkflation
Is $20/kg for pistachios actually a good price? I haven’t bought in a while but doesn’t seem that cheap.
What is a normal price for pistachios?
Costco sells 1.36kg for $29.99 so ALDI is cheaper.
Problem is you're paying a lot for the shells.
can i turn this into pistachio butter like peanut butter?
yeah, grind the nuts -> add some butter == pisnut butter
Yeah bro but you can't beat Skippy's, which is the James Brown of the affordable delicious peanut butter options.
The pistachio blend is super yum. $9 from the juice shop. And pistachio ice-cream - time to test my ice-cream maker.
Previous purchases were too salty, and with too many empty shells.
Since tariffs I am not buying them. Boycotting the US made/brand goods.
I bought these today and they were like $13.
Smaller packet. 600g
Oh you're right.
