"We're Making Changes to AGL Rewards"

A notice has been posted on the AGL Rewards page:

We’re focusing our efforts on great value products and services we offer, to bring more value to you.

As we make changes, many of our partner offers will no longer be on AGL Rewards, however it remains as your go-to hub for great savings with AGL offers and benefits.

No indication of when change this will happen - but it looks like discounted eGift cards may be on the chopping block.

  • I recall same thing happened a few years ago, Coles egift was culled back then but others remained.
past performance is not an indication of future performance

  • Try Energy Locals and their manipulation of "special deals".
They offer a Membership Program which purportedly offers a significant discount on Daily rates in return for joining it.

The payback is "Unlock access to thousands of exclusive discounts
Enjoy fair energy and a free Entertainment membership* with our Local Rewards plan"

Just try and find the webpage. It's there but not linked to the homepage
It is hard to explain but they deny it ever existed.

In Victoria the whole electricity pricing reseller " industry" is just a scam.
We have four distributors, three wholly owned by Chinese companies, the other partially
No matter what address you live, one wholesale price list is delivered to to every reseller, who manipulate their rates to look dfifferent to others, and the variations are minimal

  • Noooo I just joined AGL and was pleasantly surprised to see 4% off Coles gift cards

    • looks like it is gone…probably time to jump to the next retailer via econnex and get a churn reward!

      • Ohhh man. I probably should’ve stocked up a few extra 🙁

Back again but only $50 denominations…here hold my toilet paper while I look through my emails and split pay my weekly Coles grocery transactions

          • @zooter: Weird, definitely nothing there for me. I wonder if it's now state specific for some reason.

  • Airbnb gift cards are gone…

As far as I can tell, it’s now completely gone.

Someone should update the gift cards wiki and remove the column, somehow - possibly with a tool or AI?

    • They shouldn't nuke it so fast like that. Just wait see what they will do

  • Used to have 4% off Woolworths and Coles gift cards, now down to 2.5% off only. Sad.

I can't find an area to buy AGL Rewards Giftcards in my AGL Rewards. There is a section called "For existing gift-card holders" but no where to purchase giftcards. Have they stopped this or can you still buy them? Do I need to do anything to signup to purchase giftcards via AGL Rewards? (I have an electricity account)

Looks like they have removed the ability to buy gift cards completely. Worked fine a couple of weeks back.

      • Thank you. I tried chatting to them and they were very unhelpufl with lots of canned replies

Honestly, gift cards and inertia are the only reasons I stayed with them. Time to churn! I'll consider coming back if the gift cards do. At least I still have Macquarie.

  • It looks like gift cards are still available for purchase through AGL however they’ve changed their gift card partner from The Card Network Member Store over to Signature Rewards (so some of the gift cards that were available are no longer available). You can access the discounted gift cards with the same email you have to login with AGL if you go to https://app.signaturerewards.com.au/auth/login. If you don’t have a password go through “forgot my password” to reset your password.
