  • Is this the same as the xiaoxin tab pro 2025?

    • Yep, main difference is the screen finish. The Lenovo Idea Tab Pro has the matte feeling while the Xiaoxin has smooth surface (but you can purchase ones with a matte finish)

      • +1

Very decent deal then to get global ROM instead of CN ROM. Not sure why anyone would want a matte screen on a tablet though.

        • might be better for some games, not sure if you'd want to use this tablet for anything but rhythm games though since it's quite big.

        • +4

The matte works really well with the smart pen. Gives it a nice paper feeling when handwritting. Outside of that it's anti-glare so that's one positive but you can always buy a matte screen protector so both Lenovo and Xiaoxin options are viable.

  • Is this about the same as exynos 1580?

    • +4

no, much much better, the 8300 is close to SD 8+ Gen 1.

      • wow. I was looking at the upcoming S10FE, but might pass now.

        • +1

yeah exynos chipsets are quite disappointing imo, especially since mediatek is so good nowadays

    • +1

Looking at the rankings the Exynos 1580 comes in at 34 and Dimensity 8300 at 21 with a direct comparison here. The Exynos 2200 is closer at 29.

      • Easiest indicator are AnTuTu scores, it shows you the combine benchmark gap rather than ranking.

    • +1

The Exynos 1580 is the same mid range processor used in the Samsung A56 phone. It's OK but not very powerful compared to this Mediatek which is close to flagship processors.

Good tablet, I've got the Xiaoxin Pad Pro 12.7 with 12gb of ram and it's a beast. Love it.

    • it most definitely is a beast.

    • Pls share link of this product..

Just search up Samsung S tabs on ozb. Whenever they go on sale, it's just a bit above this price but way more premium.

EDIT: Dang my original comment got brigaded by the Lenovo folks it seems. Sus af

        • +3

It got negged for not providing any links to the $449 Samsung tablet.

          • @Clear: i got s9 tab for like $350ish after a trade in (my old s21 phone)
not sure how these 2 compare thought but s9 is great

            • @botchie: Yes, that's one. Though I was also referring to the $500 one after bonuses without trade in. Way less than $500 with actual trade in

              • +5

@marshmall0w2: It's not really comparable if you have to trade in versus a 'no strings attached' discount. I'm sure if Lenovo offered the same this would be way cheaper 😜

Combined with the keyboard cover this would be great Chromebook alternative, and it has that lovely magnetically-attached kickstand that the Duet range has:

Couldn't find it from another seller unfortunately.

    • Anyone know if the case compatible with XiaoXin Pad Pro 2025?

  • Is it any good for taking notes? I just want something simple to jot down notes and do mindmaps. Is the pen crap on this or should stick to the mainstream iPad or Samsung tablets? The price is the attraction for me here.

Those that have it, I’d appreciate your insights.

My partner loves handwriting notes when traveling and I purchased this for her as a digital alternative. She's liking it enough when you compare how expensive the other paper-like alternatives are

does this take a Sim card?

    • -7

^ This. No point buying a tablet w/o sim card function.
'Use your phone' folks would reply soon.

      • +6

You're being downvoted because the answer really is "hotspot from your phone". Nobody wants to buy another data plan for their tablet.

        • You came too quick! Hee, I buy a tablet and look for hotspots.

Buyer beware. Last time I purchase a Lenova tablet, they did not supply spare parts, no even batteries. There proposed solution for a dodgy battery was to send it back to them and pay them more than the original cost of the tablet for "repair". I had two such tablets, and both developed the same problems. The USB ports got clapped out on both of them after just over a year, and I knew finding the part was going to be impossible so they ended up in eWaste. Lenovo's tablet division are absolutely pathetic. Be warned.

    • Rough with your ports? They can be replaced at any old repair shop, ports are generic parts. Bummer about the batteries though.

      • The two tablets were purchased for a couple of boys ~10 years old. It's likely they were rough, but my main criticism is just how bloody hopeless Lenovo's support was as if their tablet line-up was an after thought. Carrying parts or directing a customer to where they can get parts seems like a bare minimum if you're manufacturing anything of that nature. Their Android OS was also quite pathetic. Very locked down, no updates, and just a sense they nobody gave a damn. This was a Lenovo Tab M10 for anyone wodnering.

    • I had a screen replaced on my duet 3 under warranty and was quick and painless

  • What is the code? Can i try to use for motorola fusion 50? Thanks

  • Honest non-flaming question - how does this stack up against an iPad A16 in terms of performance?

I actually prefer Android but I hear those iPads are an unusually impressive value proposition.

    • +1

Depends on use case. Decide what you want it for , compare benchmarks.

  • Ordered last night, shipped today from Lenovo

    • I've ordered this morning at 4am from Lenovo… Unfortunately no updates yet if it has been shipped :(

  • Bummed I missed out on this deal. I don't suppose anyone has come across a similar deal?

  • Saw that these were back at $499 most places. Got onto Lenovo chat, asked them if they could do $424.15. They checked, messed about a bit and then agreed, but I had to pay over the phone right away, no code or link or anything. Still, worth the small effort for the saving if you want to buy this one. $424.15 was delivered by the way
