Can anyone please help me find a bargain laptop.
I am tired of the junk the Facebook marketplace algorithm throws into my searches. Dell has a refurb for $999 which is almost perfect (16",amd 8840hs(780m)/16gb/1TB) but it's got a 250nit 45% screen, arrgggghhhh
Use case, general stuff, surfing net, watching movies, light gaming.
New or used.
Budget $1 to $1000.
Important:
1. 15", 16" or 17" size, and better than the typical 250nit 45% screen.
2. Decent build quality including hinges that won't break (it will be in and out of my backpack most days).
3. Powerful igpu like AMD 680m or 780m, or intel arc igpu (may consider intel iris if it's a cracking good deal), need to be able to play No More Room In Hell, and other igpu befitting games on it.
4. Good battery size/life.
Not needed:
a. Touch screens or 2in1 or 360 degree.
b. Dedicated gpu.
c. fantastic speakers as I will mostly use headphones.
d. res above 1080p, as 1080p is fine.
Anyone who helps will be touched by an angel.
Thanks.
The cheapest Ryzen 7 8845HS laptop that comes with a OLED display I've seen was this Acer deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/865943 for $1097
The price has increased to $1297.00. still ok given that it has a 90hz OLED display and 2880 x 1800 res @ 1.25KG. Definitely a lot lighter than 16" device (maybe a good thing if you plan to travel with it).
I don't think there is any 16" device with an 8840HS Hawk point APU for under the $999 mark, especially not one without a crappy 250nit display.
