Bulova Mini Lunar Pilot 96K115 - 'Blood Moon' Dial $599 ($574 w/ Signup Bonus) Delivered @ Starbuy

180

It's back on sale again. Wears much smaller than the specs would suggest.

I haven't put an end date on it as I don't know if the holiday tomorrow means this will be the 'all weekend' deal that expires on Monday morning.
Edit: I contacted them and Deepak confirmed there will be a different deal tomorrow. Post updated.

Don't forget the $25 signup bonus for new purchasers.

Why would you want to buy this from someone other than Starbuy? Starbuy are excellent, Deepak is a great operator, and they should be rewarded for being a price leader.

There have been comments from one or two OzB members before of less-then-stellar experiences with Starbuy. It happens in business - you can never please 100% of the people 100% of the time so there's always going to be disgruntled customers, and in the spirit of fairness I like to give people choices. Also, it's a good reminder there are other retailers out there who often have their own good deals, it's just that Starbuy happens to be the most consistent and prolific.

        • less-then-stellar (sic)

I see what you did there, you're a star Chazzozz

        • But none of the other retailers you've pointed to do have any good deals. Starbuy is the only mob who consistently leads on discounted prices in this budget watch space.

(If only Starbuy started selling Tudor…)

havent seen any crazy watch depot prices for ages - although thats probalby also because we dont see RB with the RB curated short lists anymore.

I keep a tab open on both to update daily.
There was a plain white Eco Drive for $199 last week. A few Jag and another fashion brands recently too. Watch Depot will go there.

I reckon the best value are the unknown cheaper brands now, sadly. I have a Cadisen coming soon.

        • Cadisen

          nice, which one mate?

@Jimothy Wongingtons: Initially wanted their version of the deal watch in blue panda. But 19mm lug width killed it for me.

So instead went with the Moonswatch homage in black, for US $32.50

@Speckled Jim: Both nice looking pieces

Interesting that cadisen decided to do a moon swatch homage too. I have the Pagani speedy and red white (mission to Alaska?) ones. Great fun pieces. Get compliments all the time.

@Speckled Jim: Wait…they did a Swatch homage that's better than the Swatch?

              BWAHAHAHAHAHA!

I actually like the brown version, it's very similar to the Mission to Saturn just minus the cool little graphic of the planet. It's still pretty clean and a good execution of the style, and certainly a much more attractive price.

              • @Chazzozz: Yeah, there's a few brands doing it. There's one with a basic Seiko movement and mineral, it was around US$20 IIRC, and similarly priced Speedy homage but sketchy on what type of case material, among other things.

Cadisen we know is mechaquartz+stainless, but there's conflicting info about crystal. Early YT reviews said sapphire. Certain bits of description agree, other bits contradict. I suspect they were originally, but they cut costs? We'll see…

              • @Chazzozz: Just found this Megir Moonswatch homage for ~US $5, but you need US $10 total order for free shipping:
                https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005008852373409.html

At the cheapest end of the spectrum. Movement: "quartz", Case: alloy, Crystal: hardlex
Seems okay for amateur theatre nights.

                • @Speckled Jim: Wow, if you want it to be in a box you have to pay a whole 52¢ more…forget the quality, feel the price!

I've added that to my wishlist and the next time I'm making a low-value AE order where I need to add up a bit more to get free shipping I'll chuck one in. I may even splurge and get a box as well! :-D

  • Another day, another artificial Starbuy sale.
