      Yes, you can use a Google Play gift card in Australia to pay for a Google One plan. First, redeem the gift card to add Google Play balance to your account. Then, when you subscribe to or manage your Google One plan, you can choose to use your Play balance as the payment method.

      Funny timing, my google one subscription renews in two days. I just bought this gift card 10 minutes ago, redeemed it, and changed my payment method to the balance. Was very smooth.

    be careful. with using these cards. I had problems activating and so did others. search in this forum for more threads. Google were of no hep niether were coles/accc/consumer affairs ect

      Yup, last year I bought a Google Play gift card from this same Woolworths Gift Cards site and it did not work for me. Google were zero help but at least Woolworths were willing to refund me, so there's that

    Does setting up a Turkey account still work? Likely the better option if it does, then giftcards from Turgame.

      p.s. I switched to iOS now so can't test, but I know it works on iOS still.

      Edit: Did a little research, seems they throw up an error if there's any detection you're not actually a Turkish customer when redeeming the gift card, then they require proof of where you purchased it etc. Not worth the risk.

    Bought, but got the dreaded "We need more info to redeem your gift card" error on Google's side. Google's help page mentions "Due to high case volume, some investigations may take weeks" which isn't particularly helpful if you need funds by some time frame.

    Issue has been mentioned before, but commenting to reiterate this warning to others.

      This seems to be a common issue with Google Play gift cards anywhere now, it was originally to crack down on international hacks (ie using Turkish gift cards with a Turkey account), but now if you've simply travelled recently it flags things even for countries unlikely to be used in that way. Apparently they just require a receipt or proof of where you purchased it, maybe bank records will be enough even.

        Thanks for the info. This is an Australian account (even made a payment through it via credit card), and I haven't traveled in years.

        Maybe it will get let through, but Google's claim that it can take weeks is quite inconvenient when that wasn't the initial expectation. Google also doesn't have a good reputation regarding customer support, so I wouldn't be surprised if my sending them proof just gets thrown into the endless pile of requests that no-one ever looks at.

        Personally, I have more faith in Woolworths responding than I do with Google doing anything.

          I had this issue, had to give Google a copy of my receipts and they sorted it in a day or two. So keep your receipts!

            @Trishool: I'm assuming the issue was related to the GC and not to the account? What I mean is whatever they did to fix it, was to that actual gc?

          Yeah their system is flagging everything lately. They don't like cards being resold, not sure entirely why it / how it flags things but it's gone insane.

      Update for whoever reads this: to my surprised, Google approved the card about an hour ago, and I redeemed it successfully.
      Glad it took much quicker than the 'weeks' they warned about.
