Recommend a Garment Steamer Please?

Hi folks, just seeing if anybody has a recommendation for a standing steamer for garments. More specifically for frequent use e.g. steaming clothes at a store. Not industrial level of use yet, I'd say, most days we do a quick touch-up on around 50 items, and some days maybe 80 items (occasionally). We thought it might be time to graduate from a home-use device, on to something that is still relatively light and affordable.

We have gone through a few models / types and would like to see if we can find a steamer which overcomes a few limitations:
* decalc less frequently
* lost time due to the steamer going into cycles of heating up the steam (down time) and actually producing steam (good)
* parts breaking down only after a little while, so it'd be an added plus if certain small parts are replaceable e.g. nozzle, heat level knob (this is a nice-to-have)

Anyone with similar experience, e.g. a clothes store owner, and could share with me your recommendation please? Thank you in advance!

    Ok. I recommend a garment steamer.

    But only because you asked nicely.

    decalc less frequently

    I use mineralized water and never have this issue in my steamers and irons.

    Cant help you in a recommendation as my steamer is personal use

    • What kind of mineral ?

        Sorry was supposed to be demineralised

    Had my linen blend blinds steamed by the installers recently. Swore they used a handheld Philips but on looking at images, may have been Sunbeam. The installer used demineralised water and told me that they had reverted to hand helds due to price vs longevity (I asked as I was expecting some big machine not something I could have done myself 🤷‍♀️)

    • Thanks for sharing that. Yes, we were pleasantly surprised with a handheld one from Kmart and how well it worked, until it died. Very tempting to go with handheld steamers, but we'd have to be wasting so many steamers way too often because of our heavy usage :(

    When I worked backstage in theatre, it was always Jiffy. I also spot them in high end stores. You get what you pay for. These are 10x better than any sunbeam or philips steamers, and are priced accordingly.

    • Always wondered what that brand was! I want one for my curtains but Im really not convinced about the handhelds (my drops are almost 3m).

    • Thank you for the recommendation!
