I bought this about 6 months ago for $65 and was actually impressed with it. Was trying to by replacement heads for it only to discover it was on sale for the first time according to camelx3

It also has a great battery life. Took it on a 2 week holiday and forgot to bring the charger.. worked fine the whole time.

  • Is this an unbranded one?
Was comparing it with another which is cheaper and they look quite similar.
Are the replacement heads generic and easy to find?

-Just noticed that yours was a wireless charging one.

Not really very familiar with sonic ones because I have only used the rotary one.
Interested to try out the sonic one but I'll hear other opinions first.

this doesn't look legit. real one is philips sonicare. i had sonicare, then tried oral b. Oral b has different heads and the oscillating action is better at cleaning teeth. sonicare feels like a regular tooth brush that just vibrates like crazy. my teeth doesn't feel as clean as it does with the oral b. i own the high end in both, diamondclean and io9

The first pic and the pics in the review indicate it’s a Heymix, your teeth will be lit!

    • This is not a wireless charging one? or they just failed to mention it in the ad?

      • +1

"Wireless Charge & 30 Days Battery Capacity"

  • This looks like it's made by our favorite firestarter Heymix.

    • Should be all good as long as we use another brands 240 V USB charger

(don't think that is included, only USB cable and wireless charger).

      • That is correct. Just comes with a usb cable that your meant to plug into your own power brick. Thanks Apple!!

  • Haven't gotten over the thought that this is just a gimmick and unnecessary. Does this thing really make a difference?

    • +2

Yes electric toothbrushes are much better than manual ones.

    • +2

Electric toothbrush is as much as gimmick as a cordless drill driver to a screwdriver !

      • Hmm, that makes sense. Talk to a man about tools and he'll get it instantly 😄
        So it's about effort then.
I tried out hard brush few years ago and have never looked back to medium or soft. Slowly, everyone in the family has switched over to hard too. First time after that, I got complemented by the dentist too at the general cleanup that the teeth are exceptionally better than usual. That's the only change, from medium/ soft to hard that we'd made. It's a shame hard is not really available in Australia, I did get plenty to stock from an overseas trip though. Hard lasts so much longer too, just takes a little bit of getting used to the motion to not hit soft tissue when brushing.

Are the brush heads on this hard or medium/ soft?

        • Mine feel like medium but i guess you dont want a hard brush against your tooth with 200 Hz speed.thats like sanding your precious teeth ( used tool language there again haha )

  • Has anyone seen any Oral B iO deals?

    • Half price at woolies at the moment.. io2 $79.50 and io3 $99.50.. pretty much the same price everywhere though.

      • Yeh half price seems to be pretty the 'normal' price. Thanks though!

Does the whitening mode need additional paste or something? How does the whitening mode work?

  • Thanks op. Mine arrived in the mail…not sure how I feel about the sonic toothbrush compared to a rotating oral b toothbrush. Might get used to it.

    This one has a 60 battery life - $34.99

Yeah definitely felt weird when i first used it coming from a rotating toothbrush. I got used to it in after a few uses though.

  • So you ran out of the replacement heads in 6 months? Is that normal? The listing claims of several years is substantially different

    • +1

Well, it come with 2 heads already in the travel box and i forgot about the others until i went on amazon and realised it came with 6 more that i put aside and forgot about.
