    Love mine

    • Is it possible to play music from your phone while gaming on a console at the same time?

      • +1

I was after the same thing but the FAQ on the steelseries website says:

Can I listen to Bluetooth at the same time as my game?

Although you can have a 2.4GHz & BT connection at the same time, the Nova 5 only allows the ability to listen to one audio stream at a time. You can easily switch between 2.4GHz & BT by pressing the Quick-Switch button on the headset.

        • Yep two modes are individual. I usually have music playing through a console app and mix the sound levels on there

      • I bought Nova 7 awhile back it allows both simultaneously I don't think the Nova 5 does I think its on sale for about 220 about $40 higher than the $180 posted end of last year

  • +1

I know it's not what it's made for, but has anyone used this for work calls + music on their phone? How have they found switching between the two during the work day, and how's the quality been?

    • +1

Use this daily as a work/phone head set and for PC use. Switching is seamless and fast. Quality, ive found to be excellent (mic is super clear from what Ive been told).

  • I have these in the 5X and they are fantastic

I don’t think this version tho works on the Xbox only PC PlayStation and Switch (Could be wrong but I’m almost sure I’m right)

If you get the X version it works on everything but it’s still in the $200s

  • Does anyone who own these mind commenting on the chatmix feature? I love my old Steelseries, the main thing I love is chatmix, but reading reviews it looks like its a little different on these?

Does it create two outputs in Windows (Chat/Game) allowing you to set what output to what in a game/discord ect..? or do you need to do it in their app now? Whats the app like?

    • +2

I don’t actually use the Arctis 5 myself, but just for comparison — I use a HyperX headset that also offers a similar ChatMix-style feature. It shows up as two separate outputs in Windows (Game/Chat in sound settings), and from what I’ve read, the Arctis 5’s ChatMix can be adjusted with the physical dial, no software needed.

You can usually just set your game audio output to “Arctis 5 - Game” and your voice chat (like Discord) to “Arctis 5 - Chat” in the respective app settings. (This is what it looks like on my headset, “hyperx game”, and “hyperx chat”) Sometimes it even defaults to the correct setup automatically.

I haven’t used the SteelSeries GG app personally, but it apparently unlocks more features like game-specific EQ presets and deeper audio controls.

How's the comfort of these? Good for long sessions over many hours?

  • There are 3 version of this headset: 5, 5P and 5X. All support PC, Mac, PS, Mobile, Switch, Steamdeck, etc. however only the 5X supports XBox. If you want to use it with XBox then you have to buy the 5X version, if you don't then the 5 or 5P are an option. The marketing for each version mentions specific audio presets for XBox and PS for the relevant versions but I think all 3 versions have access to the presets regardless. It's in the software so would be silly to be locked out based on the model.

If all 3 are priced the same, then from my research there is no reason not to get the 5X version as it supports everything and also has a physical chatmix dial on the headphones which the 5 and 5P are lacking (Chatmix only works for Xbox and PC I believe).

The cheapest the 5X goes for at the moment is $248.96 from EB Games. So you're saving $80+ going for the 5 on this deal but you miss out on XBox compatibility and the chatmix dial. Being from Amazon Germany then you're also dealing with an international warranty vs buying local.

    • Yes always get the X version if you have a choice and want to use it on XBOX along with everything else

I use my 5X on my PS5 PRO

  • Any issues with hooking this up to the TV?

I ordered these via Amazon Germany about a year ago and I never got my order. Had to get a refund.

Headset is fantastic. Bought from elsewhere and have been using daily and the quality and comfort is great for the price.

If you don't want to wait for shipping from Germany, and don't mind the white version, $170.57 for the nova 5x shipped by Amazon AU

Just pulled the trigger on this to replace my Arctis 7

    • X version is the way to go so great for getting them but I’d be worried about White ear cups as they get dirty real quick apparently and go yellowish. Can replace them but that’s more $$

  • How does this compare to sennheiser momentum 4

  • Obviously hard to really know pre-release, but do we think this would work with Switch 2?

    • Should do seeing they work with the current Switch. USB dongle goes into the USB C input on the switch and good thing the switch 2 has two of them so you can play and charge at the same time too while using headset
