Is There USB C Hub with USB C Power Delivery Passthrough, Supports USB C a External Monitor and No External Power Powerbrick

This is a question on whether this actually exists.

  • A USB C hub, where I can connect it via USB C for power delivery and connect it to my laptop via USB C to power it.
  • Can support an external monitor, think those portable external monitors that use USB C connection, the ones you see all the time on Ozb. This means not using HDMI or Display Port
  • Has no external power brick, so it's not a docking station which all seem to require a power brick. Instead of powering via usb c connections.
  • Headphone/Mic Jack

Similar to the UGreen Revodock series. Where only the triple monitor usb c hub is close. With USB C power delivery passthrough, but uses HDMI for the external montior connections instead.

Does this even exist?

  • Dont think it has the PD, but may be something like this will work for you

    • Looks like this is not really something you are looking for, anyway.

    • Yeah, that one has an external power supply, rather than powered via USB C charging. I've already got 100w USB C chargers, and wanted to minimise the extra power bricks.

Laptops use USB C, singular 100w usb c charger to power everything. Alas, it seems impossible right now

  • here's a cheap one I almost bought at $40 something dollars. https://www.amazon.com.au/Xiaomi-Supports-Resolution-Chargin…

    I didn't actually need it so I didn't buy.

not sure if meets all your requirements I'm not an expert.

    • That one uses HDMI for the monitor output, when I wanted USB C instead. There are a lot of HDMI or display port usb c hubs. It's the USB C monitor output port that's missing.

      • sorry my bad. I don't even have a USB-C monitor but I thought 100W out from the USB-C would be enough to power one.

what is USB monitor output called again? thunderbolt?

        • I think it might be thunderbolt? Although, I don't think I've seen a usb c thunderbolt hub, only docks.

  • The technology just might not be here yet. Or perhaps it's a market and cost thing. People who want USB C monitor connections would power more than a singular monitor, hence the need for a thunderbolt dock. Whereas a regular HDMI connection is cheap and most likely good enough for most people who want usb c hubs.

    Truly tragic.
