Although I prefer the black ink 0.7mm, this is still a good price for good pens.

My favourite is the 0.7mm SXN217.

Same but the price is right !

0.7 is clearly the people's favourite, why do 1.0s keep appearing in offices?

      • +5

        1.0 is better

If you miss writing with crayons… :D

Really great pens. Ink dries super fast which makes it good for left-handers (no smudging or ink on your hand). It also writes on waterproof paper, which is pretty niche, but really handy for me. Personal preference is also 0.7mm black ones.

1.0 is perfect for ballpoint pens. i use fountain pens now, but jet stream is one of my favourites.

      • What's your recommendation for ink for fountain pens? Or do you prefer cartridges?

        • +1

          i never use cartridges anymore.
for the medium and fine tips my favourites are jacques herbin and iroshizuku. waterman and lamy are good cheaper inks.

for the broader tips. i really enjoy van diemans shimmer ink. good to dip with fine and medium tips, but i wouldn't load it because it will clog and is a pain to clean out.
also an aussie company, so i like to support local as much as i can.

    $10.98/10 pack at Officeworks.

    • Thanks!

    • Am I missing something? Amazon is ballpoint but OW is Rollerball?

      • to help you decide:

ballpoint pens uses a thick oil-based ink that can be thick and sticky, which will sometimes leave blobs of ink on the page or be difficult to start writing after long breaks between uses

rollerball pens use a water-based ink is more fluid and usually provides a smoother writing experience

JetPens put me onto this model years ago, my wife and I love them because they're so smooth and dry fast for her left-handed writing. The Sharpie S-Gel is my current favourite of all pens, but I will always come back to the UniBall. Their grips are really nice for me, I've had 0.3, 0.5, 0.7, and 1.0 models, and for standard thickness paper the 0.7 beats out the 1.0 by a little. The 0.3 will tear straight through low quality paper like newspaper if you press too hard. For heavier grade paper or really smooth high quality paper, it is a joy to use the 0.3 and 0.5 to write super fine crisp and legible text. The multi-pen with 4 inks and pencil is also a great fidget device and pen when I'm ruminating at my desk.

Jetpens is what makes me want to spend all my $! I do love the jetstream 0.5 Edge but my favourite is the jetstream Alpha gel 0.7

one of the best value for money rollerballs you can buy imo. i prefer the uniball eye but thats going to set you back a massive $2 a pen instead

    • Personally I prefer these ones to the uniball eye. For me, the ink in the eye range is too runny / liquid.

      • I could see that if you were writing a lot. I only jot quick notes so eye is fine, but for a lot of writing I'd probably take the jetstream

OP didn’t post the more expensive one but rather it was mentioned by another OzBargainer in the comments

Sorry only found out after posting the deal when someone posted in the comments about officeworks. I tried to update the post but it didn't let me add the word "officeworks" (unsure why) . Eventually added "OW" instead.
