Laptop Recommendations Please

Hi
Looking for suggestions

I am looking to buy a replacement to my 7 years old laptop, I am happy with Dell but if suggestions are about others brands I am happy to hear.

It's home use, 1 TB, a good processor , ideally 15 inch, able to connect to a docking station. I want to buy a good laptop which is future proof. My budget is around $1500.

  • A 7 year old laptop replacement or laptop for a 7 year old?

Use case? Any gaming? Is screen spec important if you're mainly using external monitors? Is a desktop PC viable?

Sort answer is to check out JB HiFi online

  • Thanks
No gaming, new or used depends what we can get, screen decent. No PC, laptop required

My laptop is 7 years old, I want to buy a new one which will stay with me for at least 5 years . Reliable…

  • Have a look at Metabox and then get a USB C "docking station" / Hub and you'll be good to go.

Waited for this comment. Wasn't disappointed.😉

  • Thanks, I looked at the reviews of Meta, lately many are expressing their dissatisfaction with products they got from them. How reliable they are.

    • In the last 10 years, I've only had one issue, and it was a power supply connector-related issue, but it was always covered under warranty. After about the 3rd time and expressing my dissatisfaction when it failed 1 week after I got it back, I arranged a brand new machine and one of the latest models at no charge for the changeover.

Highly rate them. Bought them for personal and business use, and they have always been great. Quick delivery, easy for warranty returns etc and pretty good communication.

I think overall, best value for money.

  • 7yr old laptop, that's about the age of mine when I buy them, (so called) refurb Dell Latitudes are indestructible, newer stuff will cost me at least 1k more & deliver less then Sh1t itself sooner, it's your $ … waste it how you want in the endevor to have something new … new but neither better or value!

Do your own research on YT, only DHs here who will flame you and argue with each other, not worth the BS! most are US based reviews, but you'll get an idea of what's ok, keeping in mind that MOST stuff in the bargain price range has build quality problems, the worst of which is the screen hinges breaking, something you'll NEVER see happen with a Latitude.
