Philips Portable Hue light. Not usually sub 100, close to ATL. I prefer these to the Playbars as they're bluetooth, more portable and versatile and can run for a time off battery.
Same price at Officeworks and Amazon if you prefer.

They mostly come out at acid trips, mostly.
Its in its name, it's an ambient light.
We use ours heaps
Ambient lighting in baby room
They are great for a couple of days until you realise the inconvenience of charging them defeats the novelty of ambience lighting
Grab one to chuck on the dinner table on our balcony, where there's no power. Great as a portable light source for a book, warm but not too bright.
I've got one for my gaming PC. I already have Hue Play behind my monitor but got a GO to place in the other corner of the room to increase the ambience when playing games or watching youtube.
I also got one for my childs room as a night light. It schedule to decrease over time so 20 mins after bedtime it goes off by itself.
We also had a few parties in our bbq area during summer and towards the night I'd place them in the behind our outdoor furniture to add some cool ambience.
So all cases definitely not required but I love them because they have multipurpose if you want to create atmosphere / ambience
These are free? Or maybe it needs a price in the title…
what's the catch ??

Lurker come out after 12 years
Feels good but I think I've put my back out from the exertion.
I try to post as add on to comments as I'm a bit rough with technology
Welcome, again.
Kmart ones were $10
They are nifty little lamps and good for sticking in random corners for lighting effects but $100 is still too much.
OP prefers these over the playbars but I think the playbars are more versatile, and while their current price of $129 for the two pack at JB, OW and Amazon isn't the cheapest they have ever been they hardly ever drop below this price so I'd consider them a better buy, if you are or want to be invested in Hue ("invest" being the operative word here…)
Thanks OP, I picked up a couple of these with a starter pack from Aldi about 5 years ago.
Picked one up, agree that $100 is still a bit high for a deal, but I like them.Real questions is what is the equivalent reasonable quality and price alternative?
I've yet to really understand the use case for these.
