    • USD$ mate…

After you change to AUD, it shows as $217

      • For the negger’s context, Inozio sent a link to the Inkbird US website, and they unpublished their comment with a neg to the deal post

  • Great, bargain ordered
It was $159 said for me

Cheaper on inkbird ebay, 150 shipped

    • I cant make up my mind if i want 4 probe or the 2 probe is enough for $50 less

This is ozbargain. More is always correct. If anything you should be buying 2 sets of 4

        • Aha yeah more probes is better value right

          • @Kangarookiddd: i found a heap of reviews of connection issues and misreadings , so have decided to just keep using my wired probes ,

@Kangarookiddd: I have the 4 probe (this is pretty much standard sale price, same as I got it for last year), havent had any connection issues myself, or misreadings as far as I can tell.

One thing I would say is that because the probe charging is all built in to the display, it's kinda bulky if you're using that to monitor so maybe the 2 probe is better in that regard. If you are just using the app and have the base tucked away guess it doesn't matter so much but would have been much better if the display part detached from the probe charger.

@Kangarookiddd: My issue with all of these as well, I have a Kamado Joe and all I see is complaints of having to have wireless receivers right on top of the BBQ for the to even register.

              • @athk: Yeah seems like they dont have very good penetration through any thick metal / insulation.

It takes the novely out of this plugnplay wireless for me, better off having probes inside with all the hardware wired to the outside , sending the readings wifi or Bluetooth

I had this realisation last year when i was looking at wireless probes 🥲

@Kangarookiddd: Same! My InkBird 4 probe wireless works amazing and having a couple of cords hanging out really doesn’t bother me.

Question - seems this doesn't come with anything to mount a probe if you wanted to measure oven/bbq/smoker temp?

    • +1

My understanding is the 'probe' part of the probe cannot register that high of a tempurature and isn't meant to be exposed outside of the protein. The back of the black probe is able to register the ambient tempuratures though.

      • Cheers, I missed the in the specs about the food temp only being -10 to 100 deg

    • I like amazon return policy. Much easier to get refund.

  • Looks like the 4 probe only works on 2.4GHz WiFi, so if you need 5GHZ the 2 probe may be better, I have the 2 probe and can confirm it connects on 2.4 and 5.

Looks like the 4 probe also has ambient temperature sensors on every probe, 2 probe only has ambient on the longer black probe.

I like the hardware but the app is not giving me proper notifications. I've added the "Allow settings alarms and reminders" permission on Android to see if that helps, but have not tested yet.

    • Have you turned off battery optimisation? Sometimes that stops the app running in the background.

      • That was my first thought as well, but it didn't resolve the issue.
