How to Reset Remapped Keys on R36s Gaming Console

so my son has somehow remapped all the keys on his r36s after having it for a month or so.

I did take an image of the original SD card on day 1 and just restored it to another SD card but the problem still remains.
thought the key map might be saved on the OS/SD card but doenst look like it.

how to fix please?

  • No it's not a new Nissan Skyline variant.

    For those that are wondering.

  • There is a small factory reset in the battery compartment which you get to with a coat hanger. Try that.

    • couldn't see any tiny buttons under the battery, there is a reset button the side wall of the housing but also did not fix the issue

  • Has he remapped them for the entire thing (ie even the main ArkOS menu where you scroll through to select systems, games, etc)? Or just in game? Is it in all games or just specific systems / games?

You can manage this in RetroArch. While playing a game, press the "FN" button (the top one of the 3 in the centre) and the X button simultaneously to bring up the quick menu. You can then select Controls - Port 1 Controls to change which controls on the R36S map to which controls on the emulated system. You can then save a remap file (Controls - Manage Remap Files) to save these controls either for just that game ("save game remap file") or for all games on the system ("Save remap file"). If he already saved a remap file with the messed up controls, you should be able to see this next to "Active remap file". Simplest option might be to try Controls - Manage Remap Files - Reset Input Mapping to reset input mappings to default.

    • Yeah even stuffed in ArkOS when scrolling through the menus. so now its right arrow to go down the list of games and even FN, X & select etc are not as labelled grr

which is why I thought restoring my SD Card image would fix it, but nope

      • Have you tried going to Options ->Restore ArkOS Settings?

Alternately, try a completely clean install of ArkOS onto a new SD card?
