If you have eBay Plus, extra 6% off with code TOPTOP.

  • Looking at buying one with a tripod. Why would I buy the quigo plus over for example this https://amzn.asia/d/imXzxUb

It has a green laser, is 360 degree and virtually the same price

Just an android user wondering if I'm missing something obvious

      • +8

Why not? The opposite would be strange.

      • Do you walk into an Apple store

Heavens no. Thankfully, I was born with a brain

      • It would be a solid question.

I've had the Quigo stuff for nearly ten years and they haven't died yet. Can not speak for Firecore

      • Isnt the quigo the cheapest on their line up?
I see a bosch one with green laser for 240aud. Looks better designed.

      • I have been bashing around a Firecore for a couple of years and it's been flawless.

    • +1

Dang, now I don't know what to get.

    • +1

Interesting, how to compare the accuracy?

±1.5mm/7m claimed for Firecore and +/- 0,8 mm/m in a working area up to 7 m for Bosch.

Is it ±1.5mm per 1m up to 7m, or ±1.5mm per 7m? It would be either much better or worse.

So am I paying $34 for a tripod? If I already have a camera tripod, the attachment looks universal…right?

    • +1

I've got a quigo without a stand and use it on a camera tripod

  • Didn't need, but bought more to save arguments with the wife of 'is it level'.

Maybe she will trust this more than she trusts me!

“No I don’t think this machine works properly” /s

    • wow, you got her on side to approve more tool purchases. well played sir

Does anyone know if the laser levels any good for outdoor applications? cant seem to find any info and all pictures show indoor applications.

The concern is that the laser wont emit the light beam far enough with sunlight. I have an el-cheapo no-name laser that emits a single line, I tried using the laser outdoors a few months back to check the level, but couldn't see the laser line beam from 4-5m away.

    thanks

These are pretty low power so don't work well outdoors, especially the red laser versions. You at least want a green laser version for your best chance.

      • thanks for sharing

      Work at night? Dher

      • Lol my thoughts exactly 🤣

Green light is meant to be better for outdoors apparently …
When i was doing my deck i had to make use of sunset a fair bit to get longer measurements.
Or you could throw a cloud of chalk powder into the air if you were really desperate.

If it is anything like their blue laser measures do not leave the batteries inside when not in use. It will juice them out in a few days. Stupid design. Messaged to Bosch and they told me this is normal and to leave the batteries out. So annoying to keep the batteries stuck to something nearby everytime I put it away for a few days.

    • Also beware that the blue lasers absolutely eat rechargeables in use. It's worth picking up the lithium pack if you want to do anything useful with them (even then, don't leave the battery in the unit - as @goodwillN1 says, it's a bloody stupid design they've gone with).

  • Thanks OP have been meaning to get one for when i get around to building shelving for the garage. Good find!

For those who don't want Bosch, I got one of these and use it with an old camera tripod I had - green laser - working great

    https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005007089599903.html

  • Do these measure distances too or purely a level?

  • Thanks - same price as the ozito laser level but… bosch :D

  • FYI, I just purchased the Quigo Basic for $44.82 with a random voucher that popped up. I do not have ebay plus
