One needs to be an employee of Kathmandu to get a few of these vouchers to share with family and friends. So it’s for a targeted audience.

so its pretty much toilet paper to everyone else?

      • That would make it ethereal toilet paper - beyond even 1ply

its the same voucher shared company wide to a supplier so it is fine for anyone to use.

  • How to avail

    • Print the pdf linked in the post, take it in store

      • Ohh can be used multiple times.

  • I get the feeling they are about to go into administration with the amount of promotion and heavy discounting they have had recently to liquidate stock.

Kathmandu stores frequently feature sales, making it uncommon to pass by one without seeing an offer, regardless of the season of the year .

    • Been like that for decades! eg 60% off in 2008 Still in business.

It's their business model - overpriced RRP then reduce in regular "sales".

Each year they have a new range (often just a colour change - it's just fashion), heavily discount old stock & finally move remainder to their discounted Outlet stores. (That's when I used to buy.)

As often commented… No one should ever pay their RRP!!

But KMD group (like many fashion businesses here) is facing worrying downturn in trade Discretionary spending is low with 'COL crisis'.

Just means more discounts for us😉

  • What are Kathmandu merino base layers like? Was going to get the aldi ones in the next sale but this is tempting.

      Wouldn't recommend. Thin & don't last.
Bought 4 few years back on sale. 2 were still in sealed bag.
Fabric quickly developed holes. Useless. Waste of money. Took back to store but still stuck with them.

      Never bought from Kathmandu again!

      • That's disappointing - thanks for the feedback!

    • Love the merino tees. They are my weekend tees. They're extra long, perfect for the tall boys and girls.

      • Bought Kathmandu 100% merino t-shirts SS $8 (originally "$120") & LS $15 with vouchers!

I loved them too, at first. Felt great on.

Posted comments here praising look & comfort…

Until tiny holes quickly appeared & thin fabric disintegrated. Gently hand washed in wool wash.
2 unused in sealed delivery bag - also had tiny holes that spread until unwearable.

UNIQLO Merino had same issue with holes appearing in fabric according to comments.

        Very disappointing.

But quality of fabric may have improved.

  • Curious if this stacks with birthday vouchers and such, anyone know?

    • T&C Cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers.
      So maybe not. Can try.

  • Has anyone used a print out of this voucher yet ?

As it states on it, "Kathmandu store management reserve the right to refuse purchase"!
So depends on staff member at that store

Went in store didn’t even have to show the voucher or anything, just mentioned the sale. Thanks

    • Is the voucher only for full priced items and not the ones that are 'club' sales that are half the price?

      • Yeah I’d say so but don’t know for certain

  • I’m not sure about the quality of their other items, but the black Kathmandu bag I got about 10 years ago is incredible - I have filled and used mine daily since then and it hasn’t had a single fault and shows very little wear.

    • Many of their products can't be relied on when you really need it!

Some simple gear can be great. But poor quality control means experience varies.
Discussed with Kathmandu managers, who agreed with my criticism.

Learnt it's a fashion store for travel, rather than an outdoor store.

Travelled extensively & cheaply overseas for over a decade. Used to buy Kathmandu gear, at greatly reduced prices in sales. Now won't!!

My favourite Kathmandu travel item is a cheap (on sale) microfibre face cloth. Tiny. Dependable. Treated against Bacteria.
      Nothing could be simpler.
Use as towel after shower (ringing it out repeatedly rather than carrying a large towel), soaks up sweat on hikes, cool down by soaking in water & wiping down…
      Highly recommended🌟

Thermal underwear is good value on clearance (Bought at a few $ each). Have a few sets still in boxes, ready to take on next trip. Keeps me toastie warm under my normal clothes.

      But…
Many times stitching in clothes failed. At tramping camp sites (in.NZ), could spot the people with Kathmandu thermals etc.

Merino base layers failed before even taken out of packaging!

Bought a self inflating mat. Told staff my untended use. Tested OK before leaving. But at 2500m with snow & ice in Japan Alps, mat delaminated. Meant it was useless to sleep on. Ruined planned week long trek @3000+m.
Trip was a very expensive disappointment due to terrible Kathmandu quality😖
Kathmandu told me… just return it.
So had choice to throw it out, post it back, or lump a useless mat around for a month in Japan to finally get a refund on my return.
Learnt my lesson Bought a down filled inflatable mat - which is great in the snow.

45L Pack (for 10kg max carry on flights), bought before 3 month trip through Europe started failing at important strap attachment points & stitching.
When I took it back - was told they would do nothing because it was "used"! It was my fault it failed! Kathmandu packs are apparently not meant to be used for travel😖
