Here's a cheap relatively low end Windows Phone 8 device. Nokia Lumia 620 for $279 + $19 postage (included insurance) from RyansGadget with bonus 8GB Micro SD card. It would be a direct import from overseas I guess. Currently Black, Blue, Green or White are available, and Yellow and Pink are on pre-order. Rep says to state colour in order notes when ordering. Slightly cheaper than others according to StaticICE when delivery cost is added.

For warranty, check section 8 of their Terms and Conditions. Basically RyansGadgets are offering 12 months warranty. DOA replacement within 36 hours of receiving the goods.

Was about to order BUT then I saw that TOLL are used for delivery. = slow + overnight in some guys van + call to get redelivered if not home as they NEVER leave the first time even if authority to do so is instructed.

Australia Post would be a preferrable shipping method IMO.

Also noticed that the item at Andoid Enjoyed (as posted above) is $297 shipped with 5 year warranty upgrade and postage insurance. The 8Gb Micro SD is $7 at MSY.

      Regarding extended warranty I will get back to you.
      Regarding toll to leave a parcel would be your responsibility if the item goes missing so you can specify but liability of that is on you which is the same as Australia post. Our supplier has these ready to dispatch from the time an order is fulfilled. We can't discuss other company names here and make a statement about them.

      The main difference with Australia Post is that if you aren't home, they take the parcel to your nearest Post Office, which is 10000x more convenient than waiting home the next day and hoping to see the Toll guy again (who invariably comes at 4.50pm when you have waited all day). I don't know why anyone wouldn't use Aust Post!

      The Extended warranty is currently being worked on and I will update you when it is confirmed. I know Australia post is a great concept and can offer it however the shipping price would be the same but will take longer than Toll to ship out. If you did require Australia Post you can stipulate that in your notes on your order.

      I am referring to my website and my website developer thus we because we are based in Melbourne. Regarding the GST system we are following the correct Tax law. Your comment is out of order and not talking about the deal and furthermore and what about Kogan, who never paid GST on the imported item through their Hong Kong subsidiary? Unfortunately I have been informed that my GREY IMPORT SUPPLIER has now increased the price and I am unable to take any more $279 + $19 with bonus 8gb SanDisk Microsd card, orders until I see that they reduce the price back to what it was and is corrected. I have put this item out of stock temporarly. As true Australians and Ozbargainers have said they do not like price gauging and I am not a fan of it either. I believe honesty is the best policy and please understand that it is out of my control. I hope you'll understand that everyone who buys 'toys' (in this case phones) online would like to receive them ASAP.
If these are in fact in stock then why the long wait before despatch (in giggles' case and I'm guessing likely the same for mine and juicedpixels as well)?

After payment is cleared (which I'm lead to believe is virtually instant for electronic options), I don't think it's unreasonable to expect the items to be shipped the following business day or in worst case 2 business days for stocked items.

Is there a reason for this hold-up? Perhaps you could ask your grey import supplier to reduce their handling time to 2 business days max.

Hoping my phone will be posted tomorrow so it has a chance of arriving before the aus day long weekend.

No offence intended. Just providing some customer feedback.

  Thanks for your understanding. I have been the whole day tied up regarding this matter as well as in communication with the director of our Grey import supplier. Ryans Gadgets have been in correspondence with them for the last two days they are trying to correct the situation in order for this to not reoccur. Ryans Gadgets and this Grey import supplier expect the same delivery timeframes as you expect as a customer. FYI my green lumia 620 is also within this order so I am in the same boat as you.

I tried the android-enjoyed deal and have not had much luck either.

I paid $20 for priority handling/shipping ..now it's a week later and it's still "being processed".

The customer service response is basically "don't call us, we'll call you"

I don't mind a longer wait time if that's all that's on offer, but I wish these companies wouldn't charge people for a priority service that doesn't exist.

OMG mine arrive TODAY!

I have to eat my hat about being concerned, as Ryan's Gadget took the delay so seriously that they increased the SD card and added a free car charger too!

Not only that, but FedEx passed local delivery to StarTrack who left it at my local post office (as I was not home). This is FANATASTIC as I previously voiced concern over courier return instead of Aust Post proceedure - I was SO WRONG!

Still charging the phone and getting used to the new interface, but really love it so far.
