[XSX, XB1] Minecraft + 3500 Minecoins Bundle $24 + Delivery ($0 C&C/In-Store) @ JB Hi-Fi

190

Not sure what the Minecoins do or what they're worth, but added value is always better than taken value.

Standard RRP is 39 for all versions. Not sure why this one is marked down. Not sure if both versions are on disc, or just the Xbox One version (or one of those rare cases where it's the X version). [Edit: Actually, pretty sure there isn't an X "version" of Minecraft, there's enhancements and shit probably, but it doesn't show the X|S logo on console, maybe it just runs under back compat with update patches, idk lol] Also not really a Minecraft person, but the kiddo loves it. Stack this with a tenner and 14 bucks may be the cheapest Minecraft's ever gone (at least on Xbox) so that's cool.

I think I've done enough characters now.

Pretty good deal for Minecraft. I got the same thing (I think it was called the 'deluxe' edition)

The coins are silly given that just about everything is available on the java edition for free, but they are worth about $15 on their own and the kids get a kick out of them.

Ive been playing with nephews, but I'm planning to move away from Xbox as there's just too many issues getting it to run. It used to be that Lan play was free, but the last few times it hasn't worked unless there was an active gamepass sub, which at $10 a month isn't really worth it. Even with gamepass it's tricky. You have to do things like setup a party if you want to chat, and the whole thing just becomes such a headache

My plan ATM is to set up an old PC with the java edition and connect up the Xbox controllers to it

Bedrock is still the winner for kids with friends, some on switch, some on tablets (and don't know how to run java on tablets).

Maybe when all the kids have handheld pcs bedrock will be redundant :)

    • Didn't the java edition get canned?

        No, still gets updated

I'm still mad Microsoft stole my copy.

They run in parallel, java is designed for keyboard and mouse only so it has a bunch of advantages (different fighting, can use both hands) and it has a huge modding community. It's got the more hardcore community and interesting servers.

        Bedrock is great for simplicity.

There are MITM packet converters that allow Bedrock players to join Java servers, so they can still join in on the fun

  • Any deal on PC edition? My Turkey VPN game pass finally ran out

    • I converted MS rewards points to 50$ last week for this game.

      • That's a lot of points! I only have 3947 points which barely gets a $5 voucher, but better than nothing I guess?

I got a smidgen over 10k last month. All I do is the daily signins and swapped my default engine to Bing

I'll be buying GTA6 with credit entirely (if I'm not dead beforehand)

  • Note, you cannot play a Local LAN game without Xbox Live.

    • Depends what you're using. If the Xbox is the host, you can join as other devices that have online permissions. The only time I touch the game is on my RG556 to play with the kiddo and she's on an Xbox, no online account whatsoever, and it lets me join…but if she tries to join me, it won't let her.
