My favourite post of all time is your very 1st post, titled simply: "Round Halo Square"
    Chef's kiss

I will never buy a lab diamond.. it just defeats fhe whole point of getting a diamond.. if we are going fake just get a swarovski crystal for $20

    • +10

Lab jewels are often more pure than natural, hence look nicer. If you after the brilliance and not after the de beers fairy tales.

      • Also killing money laundering and blood diamonds

    • +1

Can the average person see the cheapness of a swarovski crystal? Yes

    • +2

Lab diamonds aren't "fake", they need a piece of real diamond to start the process off in the lab; it's just humans speeding up the pressure process and creating something better than nature, and most importantly reducing the price of a gemstone that isn't rare and or extra valuable and breaking the De Beers control of the diamond market which is a great thing.

      • -4

Humans are unable to create anything better than nature..

The prices are still a rort so your argument is flawed.

  • What is the point of white gold… Just get STERLING SILVER instead.

    • +1

Because jewellery made of "white" gold is far more valuable and will increase in value faster than silver, and certain gemstones look better in a silver-colour setting.
White gold isn't white all the way through anyway it is regular gold often mixed with some silver that's then coated with rhodium which gives it the silvery finish, underneath the coating it will still be yellow or yellowish.

    • Also, sterling silver is much softer than gold, hence it is more prone to scratches, dents and breaks. Bent or broken prongs —> diamonds falling out.

      • +1

…sterling silver is much softer than gold…

this depends on the gold carat as well though, 21ct is quite soft and easily damaged, the rhodium coating makes it stronger (just pointing this out to others who may be looking to buy jewellery); best sticking to 9ct (harder gold alloy) for work/ everyday wear and 18ct and over (softer gold alloy) for dress-up/ party time.

It cost a few $100 dollars to grow a lab grown diamond how can they justify charging over $1000 for one in the 1st place?

It is like a 300% mark up and it isnt like it is a perishable product or hard to transport

I'm not against Labgrown but this is similar to Non-alcoholic beer being a similar price to normal beer it doesn't quick make sense?

Natural Diamonds are actually hard to mine and capital intensive you take 90% of that with labgrown the cost should not be comparable

    • We completely understand the curiosity around lab-grown diamond pricing — it's a question we get often.

You're right that the raw production cost of growing a diamond in a lab is lower than mining a natural diamond. However, the final price of a lab-grown diamond reflects more than just the cost of growth. It includes:

Precision Cutting & Polishing: Just like natural diamonds, lab-grown stones require expert craftsmanship to cut, polish, and grade — all of which significantly affect the final quality and brilliance.

Certification: All our diamonds are independently certified (like IGI or GIA), ensuring customers receive verified clarity, color, and authenticity.

R&D & Technology: The labs that grow these diamonds invest heavily in advanced technology, quality control, and innovation to improve outcomes, which adds to the backend cost.

Ethical & Sustainable Focus: Many buyers choose lab-grown for ethical reasons, and pricing also supports sustainable practices, worker welfare, and responsible business operations.

Even with all this, lab-grown diamonds still offer 40–70% better value than mined diamonds of the same specs — without compromising beauty or durability.
