AGL the worst company ever
Pretty sure I could think of a few worse companies than AGL.
When AGL acquired (Simply Energy, Amaysim whoever I was with) the transition was seamless and they kept me on a really cheap legacy plan for years afterwards.
I've never had a problem with AGL…

but the ampol energy rates were soooo damn cheap.

Never even heard of Ampol Energy and I check the VIC Gov compare website once a year.
What is so good about Ampol?
I actually have good things about AGL (other than the price). They were very helpful when getting abolishments and setting up new meters.
There rates were crazy low, either they didn't know what they were doing or were trying to buy customers. On top of that they gave you 10c/litre off petrol, plus ampol petrol gift cards for switching.
Seems like I missed the boat.
Just checked why it never popped up in my radar "We’re currently powering Aussie homes in South-East QLD and NSW and we'll gradually rollout Ampol Energy to other geographical locations. "
trying to switch to agl ev plan from ampol and ampol is taking forever to release billings rights. Not sure what to do about it?

Anyone else not received a bill in a while? My last one was mid April, then they sent an email saying there will be a delay. 2.5 months later no bill(s).
Just joined Ampol Energy and now this… sad…

Your current Ampol Energy Powering On plan will remain the same, which means there will be no change to your rates, fees and terms and conditions. Your solar feed-in tariff will also stay the same and will be displayed on your bills.
Your Ampol fuel discount will continue until 31 March 2026. We will write to you again when your Ampol fuel discount end date is approaching. If you change plans or move to a new service provider, your fuel discount will also end. You can still track your fuel discount usage and see the fuel discount expiry date in the rewards tab of the Ampol app.

I think come new year, they will raise prices. It was a good price while it lasted.
The lowest single rate plan is still at least 200$ more per year.

Good News for customers that have held onto Ampol.
After AGL Acquired, they didn't raise the price. They have left it as is after transition to AGL for another 12 months atleast.My plan says, it is active from 03rd October 2025 and the price is locked in for another 12 months and no exit fees after.
Plan duration: 12 months ongoing market contract with no exit fees. This is an ongoing market contract, with a 12 month energy plan period. When your energy plan period ends, we may contact you to let you know about new rates and benefits that will apply. If we don’t contact you, the plan will continue for another plan period of the same duration. You’re also free to swap plans at any time and we won’t charge you an exit fee if you decide to change plans or leave us behind.
