Compared to? I played the story once through on game pass, no idea how many hours but it was in the tens of hours. Didn't get the urge to min/Max but considering it is $10, compared to a 2 coffees, one KFC meal, half the price of movie at the cinemas, the $/hr is well worth it for this price.

Ultimately, if you have interest in the genre, you'll get your moneys worth…it might not be the best of the Diablo series nor the best in category for everyone, but if you play it, even for a few hours, it'll be worth it… Surely?

        • Story was really good. I wasnt too interested in the end game, but for 10$ its insanely good

        • If you're really wondering what games D4 is compared to, do yourself a favour and play Path of Exile. It's free by the way. Then you'll understand the "D4 bad" thing.

          But yeah $10 is $10.

      • 2 hours in and I am loving it.

It's a decent game and worth $10. I played it initially and got bored of it fairly quickly, but returned after the expansion released and the game was more enjoyable. You should get 10-20 hours out of it, possibly more.

    • Unsure about now but first few seasons were garbage. Bli$$ard are dead

    • $10, worth it for the story.
      RRP, don't even bother.

    • Love it

Yes, there is grinding, as a way to get more money legitimately, but only by progressing in levels, do more powerful items drop and the spells/damage you can do get better.
When they turned it over to on-line with daily tournaments and real use of your own money (and massive increase in addiction potential), did they kind of ruin it.
Much like having to participate in optional challenges at the top and bottom of the day.
Scammers are also real possibility, but I have never encountered this yet.

    Lol game so bad

  • Can you check the Brisbane stores for us?

  • Yep, it sucked for me, i bought a gaming pc fpr its release. Bought the delux version, as ive been a hardcore fam for 20 years. Waited the 11 years for it to drop. It was the graphics for me, so many brown and grey tones. So ugly. D3 os whete its at, highly replayable.

The current state of D3 is great… and I've been playing it since the open beta in early 2012.

But Blizzard's design philosophy for Diablo games' longevity is too focused on seasons and has neglected the more casual player base. My time for gaming isn't what it once was. I don't want to deal with having my character's progress wiped every 3 months just so I can access the season exclusive content that adds so much QoL to the game (i.e. the Altar of Rites and Visions of Enmity). Had Blizzard added these to non-season, it would have made the game many times more playable for longterm casuals like me.

It's also why I haven't jumped on the D4 bandwagon… besides the open beta not doing it for me, I don't want to be stuck playing seasons in another ARPG for the next 10yrs+ to help beta test it.

    • I don't know, I played D3 extensively but it felt more like baby's first diablo, especially when reaper of souls came out. I didn't have a particularly special crusader/paladin (it's been a while) build where he could just stand still with no input from me and just tank elite mobs. I was already bored but RoS just killed it for me.

      • Sounds like you were using the Invoker set/thorns build… and typical of any thorns based build, the idea is to get hit so that you can reflect back damage.

I wouldn't use that as a gauge of the overall game since most builds don't behave that way and especially when so much more has been added since RoS came out over 10yrs ago.

        • It was just my latest build when I quit. I built out most champs and did enjoy my time with it overall, but d3 was nothing like d2 or path which I feel are far better arpgs overall.

          • @AEKaBeer: All good. Each to their own.

My brother would agree with you that D2 or POE are better ARPGs. He likes making class defying builds and an economy that has some depth and trading.

The only time I had enjoyed that sort of economy was with D3 vanilla when the Auction House was around. But the problem with the AH was that if I took a break from the game or went on holidays, I wouldn't be growing my gold and thus would be going backwards relative to the rest of the active player base.

The current way D3 works is the exact opposite of that. When you get specced up sufficiently for farming with a cookie cutter build, you can run activities and legendary and set items will rain from the skies. Of course, the aim is to get the item you want, with the desired min/maxed stats and of the highest grade possible. It all can be found just from playing and for a casual like me who now has a fair few things in real life to tend to, it's a better gaming experience.

Not to mention that the seasonal themes were pretty good towards the end before we entered maintenance mode.

What would have been great for me though… a bit more love for non-season with bringing the last new permanent seasonal features to non-season like they had done previously. And more stash space so I can dabble in non-cookie cutter builds. I like creating builds and after one makes all the cookie cutter ones, there's bugger all room to make your own designs.

    • Yeah. I had to use the Nvidia filters to improve visuals.

  • should be free upgrade to PS5 as well

Only if it says ‘cross-gen edition’ on top. OP confirmed it was :)

  • winston hills, what a great place!

  • that's a good price but be notified that the game will be soon a apart of the level 2 subscription.

  • Bear in mind the expansions will cost extra.

    • Yeah, anyone who's just after the singleplayer experience and wants to pay the absolute minimum will need to wait till the game's expansion development is complete and some sort of GOTY/Definitive collection is released.

If waiting isn't an option, getting the base game at bargain bin price and buying the expansions as DLC (is there any other way to get the xpac atm?) is the way to go.

  • Thanks, grabbed 1 at Campbelltown.
