    Disapointing movie

    • +12

Disney. Marvel. What did you expect?

      • +4

        For it to be disappointing

      • Clearly you've not seen Thunderbolts*

        • Thunderbolts was ok, although the storyline could have been a little faster

    • +7

I think these days you have to watch mcu movies with little expectations that it will be good, so you will not be left disappointed.

      • +35

Or not watch them and also not be disappointed. If you watch garbage, they'll just make more of it.

        • +3

I agree that you should not waste your time on this one.

        • Just don't look. Just don't look

Doo do do doo dooo do doo do

      • +5

        Thunderbolts has been reviewing well

        A rare exception these days

        • +2

Yes, that one was one of the better one. I think people just don't have any expectations and MCU recently said they will focus more on quality instead of quantitiy

          • +2

@Taro Milk Tea: Hope they do that for their Disney remake as well.

            • -4

@nightelves: Disney remakes are for their woke agenda

              • -4

@Taro Milk Tea: This. Getting so old.

              • +4

@Taro Milk Tea: If Disney actually did care about the people they claim to be supporting through their supposedly “woke” agenda, they would do a lot more than make token gestures towards minorities in the Anglosphere like they’re doing now.

            • @nightelves: An animated version perhaps?

          • @Taro Milk Tea: Kevin Feige has said that after every failure (pretty much every movie and series after end game)

        • -1

Yes it was a decent movie. Well written with good humour although the villain is not quite the typical villain we expect from MCU.

        • +1

Wasn't terrible but shot themselves in the foot with the plot. Could see that friendship is magic ending from a mile away.

        • Basically the only thing worth watching in mcu are select Disney+ series. Agatha all along was good. Seems like daredevil born again is good too but haven't gotten around to it yet.

          Too busy rewatching Scrubs.

      • +1

Turn off your brain like fast and furious movies.. Maybe abit more

        • +2

FF franchise is worse than MCU IMO..can't stand the family thingy

    • +2

It's so boring. Glad I didn't go to the cinemas for it.

    • +3

They should be paying us to watch it…

    • +2

It wasn't too bad, but most MCU films since Endgame have been in that same boat. Nothing in Phase 4 and 5 have been absurdly terrible, just not as good as the majority of Phases 1 through 3.

    • too woke?

  • +1

    I was expecting Thunderbolt

  • +10

This leaked on the high seas months ago… made it through half the movie before I turned it off.

  • +6

    Turd of a movie

  • -1

Haven’t enjoyed an MCU movie in a long time so went in with super low expectations watching this on the plane. Actually enjoyed it. 7/10.

  • Captain America Civil War was the last great MCU film.

    • +1

      Infinity War was great
End Game (the end of the MCU for me) was good fan service wise but doesn't have the same ooomph on multiple viewings.

But my taste varies - I prefer The First Avenger over other Marvel movies.

I also feel that some of the late 90s/early 2000s Marvel shlock (David Hasslehoffs Nick Fury tv movie, The Punisher 2004 etc) were better than the MCU content post End Game.

      • +2

I only wish they didn't publish Endgame until 2024 and given us 5 years of blip content! Black Widow would've been far more powerful if the audience didn't know the events of Endgame beforehand (no spoilers).

We could've had Ant-Man Quantumania entirely within the quantum realm (5 hours for Scott vs 5 years for the world) and how he escaped from quantum space (not just a random rat pushing a button). Also would have been a good way to introduce He Who Remains/Kang without truely knowing his 'almighty time/space/dimension crossing power'

Even Shang-Chi would've worked well during that time since it doesn't really mention the Blip (or at least, I don't remember much about the impact of the 5 years for Shang-Chi)

  • +4

    this movie was terrible

  • +7

Avengers and their movies will never be the same again.

  • +12

    I don't see any bargain.

    • There’s an option to turn off notifications for streaming service updates.

      • +4

The site should be for bargains by default though, not streaming service updates

        • +2

Great, if you believe that, then there’s an option to turn off seeing deals for streaming service updates.

  • +6

    Wouldn’t waste my time.

  • +5

Already cancelled my Disney+ sub in February. I can't say I miss it.

    • Canceled mine about the second episode of Willow.
      Way to ruin my childhood.

  • -6

Disney has gone downhill as soon they went all woke, as they say, go woke go broke.

I cancelled my membership and so should everyone so they can actually get their shit together.

    • -4

Mate, in Australia if you don't go woke you'll go broke. Ask the LNP and Clive Palmer

      • Especially if you live in Newtown, Redfern and other suburbs in that area…..

      • -1

True, being the lucky county has fried our brains.

We never pay for our mistakes.

      • -8

Well, we need to wake the f up and do something about it. Not sure what agenda they are pushing with all this woke shit. Doesn't really help anyone, if anything it's destroying the family value and the family all together. Shocking.

        • +9

There is no agenda. Being woke is just being kind and respectful. It's actually free and you might want to try it someday. Have a great day!

          • -4

@cmyk: Not to get into politics but there is nothing kind or respectful about telling little kids that they can change their gender. That is absolutely absurd and should be illegal, as an adult do what you want and I will respect that, but don't push those ideologies on kids that don't know better, especially kids that are not yours.

You have a lovely and great day too.

            • +2

@itsmoe: Which Disney+ show is encouraging kids to change their gender?

          • @cmyk: Actually there is a strong authoritarian streak too it , which is kinda ironic given they claim the old fogies (who let’s face it, were hippies back in the day) are.

    • +3

Disney has gone downhill as soon they went all woke, as they say, go woke go broke.

I don't think it's just because woke. which is apparently "not cool" to say these days.

it's more because they jacked their prices up like 3 or 4 times since covid. now they are adding "limited ads" in premium tier. people just gotten sick of all the subs doing stuff like this.

      • +3

They are hiking up the prices because people are cancelling their memberships like myself, the money was never the issue for me, it's was the shit movies and shit shows they are producing/making. I mean the Star Wars stuff was the only thing keeping me around, other that, absolute garbage.

        • it's was the shit movies and shit shows they are producing/making.

100% agree with you. I mentioned it in my comment towards the bottom. content quality completely fell off I have zero reason to sub. would rather rent from Apple TV when it drops to $2.99 or 99c rental. I mean 99/100 movies I only watch once anyway so yeah I have no problem with renting and being able to watch just once when it's cheap.

I mean the Star Wars stuff was the only thing keeping me around, other that, absolute garbage.

have to disagree but maybe it's because I don't have any Starwars nostalgia. I just didn't have any interest in them. I liked Rogue One though that's the only one I liked, especially because of the ending.

other than content falling off. it's their greediness that really turned me fully away from subbing again. they offered 3 months for the price of 1 month last year, conveniently if you subbed on the last day of the promo your 3 months ended a day before Alien Romulus got added to Disney.

then me looking to rent it seemed like they paid all other services off to not allow the price of it to drop. it stayed at $24.99 to rent on Apple TV or whatever high price it was for way longer than other new releases, then they dropped it to $12.99 (when it should have been $6.99 already). obviously to try and force people waiting for the movie to sub to Disney. they know it's one of the last franchises they haven't totally messed up yet so lot of fans wanting to watch it. 🙁

          • @n3ck3ntry8bort0rgasm: Yeh since they bought Starwars and Legos and all the other brands, they needed to make their money back somehow. But since Avengers: Endgame, the quality of their movies have gone downhill. It could be just me but I don't enjoy their movies or shows that much anymore.

I have to admit though, Apple is coming out with some top notch quality shows and movies, I am not subed to them at this point either, not a fan of Apple tbh.lol

            • @itsmoe: tbh I have zero interest in Marvel. but just from seeing what the new trailers are like and some reactions to them I can see it. seems like deliberate ragebaiting to me. keep ruining it for massive fanbases to get people talking about it online, the rage brings in more views for their movies.

I'm not subbed to Apple either, sorry maybe I should have made it more clear Apple TV+ is their sub service, Apple TV is just pay to watch buy or rent each movie (it was previously called iTunes Movies). they merged them into a single app that's why I refer it to Apple TV now.

Apple TV+ will offer you free 1 to 2 months with purchase of Apple Giftcard. I think minimum amount is $100 since I got it offered again and that's the lowest amount I have bought. I consistently get this once every year so I have watched everything I wanted to watch on Apple TV+ sub for free. tbh not that much content on their still, but I am only focusing on movies.

although I did hear from a ozb user that they don't get offered these recurring 1 to 2 month Free trials. I don't know why they don't qualify.

      • +2

It's not cool to be woke in Murica. Perfectly cool to be woke in Straya as we are smarter and kinder and don't fall for Murdoch's propaganda. Proof: Aussies voted for a left wing party and won by a landslide

        • Aussies don't know any better, they locked us up like animals during covid and no one was able to say anything.

Our natural recourses are being stolen right Infront of our eyes while we are paying big bux for petrol, gas and electricity shows you how dumb we are and how bad our government is, regardless of who is running it.

If this was happening in any other country, America would have invaded them to liberate them lol

        • -1

Australians voted for looting the unborn taxpayer, and not for the other mob who clearly don’t yet have it together

          • @entropysbane: Same same if you really think about it. Australian deserve better considering how hard they work, but our government is working for someone else.

    • Disney are broke? That's an interesting observation considering it's still one of the biggest companies in the world…

      • I didn't say they are broke, I said go woke go broke. They are definitely losing a lot of money and have lost a shit ton already. Do some googling fam.

  • -2

wow, who actually pays for Disney

    • -1

They are actually quiet worth since they add ESPN on it to watch some live stream sports

    • -2

I'd rather pay ESPN than watch the boring Cricket/AFL buddy on your KAYO.

    • +5

ESPN, the channel that picks up the dregs of sport. This is why I dropped Disney, another fee increase just so they can add ESPN. No thanks.

  • Actually liked this movie. Story was good. Felt like a Cap America movie. Red Hulk was done well. Overall 7/10.

  • +3

Free trials or sail the seas

    • +2

      sailing is the way

  • Doom & Secrets War should be good.

    • The lead up to it has been terrible. There hasn't been a story arc like pre-Endgame.

I've been rewatching the MCU movies. There aren't as many bad movies as I thought there were, but some are just plain horrible that they've tarnished their name.

I hate how they try to jam comedy into their movies that just don't need it. Have jokes here and there, sure, but don't cram in jokes every 2 minutes. Thor: Ragnarok is the exception. It was paced very well. The jokes landed perfectly and weren't so forced. It had a good story and had serious bits to make not just a straight comedy.

Tell a good story. Make interesting characters. None of these 2-dimensional heroes. Hell… the villains in these movies are fantastic. I just watched Wakanda Forever. Namor is such a good character. I never even bothered with the comics. He just sounded so uninteresting. But they gave him this whole Mayan theme and backstory, the parallels between his people and the Wakandans, but the lengths he will go for his people. I still think they could have done so much more with him, but now he's just a throwaway character.

I could go on, but even I don't have the attention span to write a whole essay on this. I just want good Marvel movies.

      • Agreed. Dar-Benn wasn't a good villain. Hulk has been a joke since Thor: Ragnarok. Thor has been a joke since Endgame. Kang was a joke in Antman 3. Scarlet Witch didn't make any sense in Dr Strange 2. But Loki & Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has been good.

  • My ass is still sore from sitting through Winter Soldier in the cinema. That movie just wouldn't end, we had to make our own intermission.

    • It is not the best MCU movie definitely, probably a 6/10…but I enjoyed this WAY more than Ant Man 3….gosh that was a torture.

      • I would give it a solid 4 at best. I streamed it online because I knew it was going to be shit, wtf is red Hulk!.

My mate said it's close to what the comics are but Jesus that was terrible.

        • wtf is red Hulk!

well they have red hulk in comics. But honestly, the red hulk is much better than the green hulk on avengers movie

          • @Taro Milk Tea: I haven't personally read the comics, but I feel like instead of making all these standalone movies and flopping hard, they can make a series of what the comics are, that would be a much better approach as the comics are forever changing and people are getting confused/lost. My 2c anyways.

      • It's another example of them trying to force jokes in every 2 minutes. Where was story? Tell it!

  • tbh don't have any reason to sub to Disney anymore.

for anyone else A Complete Unknown (2025, Timothy Chalamet) was also added a few days ago. if you need more movies to add up to justify subbing.

  • Shame what's become of MCU. Up until Endgame, it was top notch.

This movied SUUUUUUUCKED. It looked terrible and serves as a Hulk 2 without the Hulk.

    • I'm going to have to watch it. There's only 1 MCU movie I just COULD NOT watch. The Eternals. I hope this is better.

      • +1

I found Eternals was quite good actually

      • Eternals is better

  • +1

Utterly forgetful movie. Marvel has been stale for too long now. Everybody has some revered ability. Everybody is invincible. Everybody is a genius. Everybody is in some ways majorly able but socially quirky. Boring. When everybody is a superhero, nobody is a superhero.

    • Everybody has some revered ability. Everybody is invincible. Everybody is a genius. Everybody is in some ways majorly able but socially quirky.

I commented something similar before. 😂

I think I said like new character is introduced with no backstory (but I guess marvel fans will know from the comics that's it's _____ hero), and their power isn't really clear but 9/10 they can randomly fly.

      • 9/10 they can randomly fly.

can't edit but I think it was "9/10 can randomly fly or shoot lasers out of their eyes". 😩

  • +2

Already seen it. Rubbish movie. Once Anthony mackie became captain america I lost interest. Chris Evans will always be captain amercia.

  • +1

Captain America writers need to do better.

  • +1

This movie was less Captain America and more the Incredible Hulk 2…. minus actual Hulk lol

  • After how terrible The Falcon and Winter Soldier series was, I have zero interest in watching this movie. Marvel/Disney have just made the worst possible choices in progressing the MCU into phase 2.

  • This is the worst Marvel movie IMO.

  • gonna give it another go

  • tbh the comments here are oddly average.

I just saw the new Snow White at the top of the list on the Apple TV app on iPad.

can't wait until someone posts that one when it comes to Disney. most likely all the unhinged users from the EV posts will have an endless stomping match. 😂
