Dragon head beanie plus the Foakley's with the race-horse blinkers.
Have you not heard of this new fashion trend from upper Mongolia?

I got the magsafe version and am very happy with it. Though I wish it had a shock absorber, phone can shake a bit.

    • phone can shake a bit.

Are you sure it's not the car?

      • It is the car, it's pretty old.

  • +1

I have the clip one. Works well, does its job, can’t ask for more

  • -1

Should of just bought the telstra sprout one for $9

  • +4

I'm still not sure why these are popular in Australia where blocking the aircon vent to your face should be a criminal offense

    • +4

      Cools the phone down

      • +3

I need AC direct to my face more than my phone does lol

    • This is why I dont use them anymore.
Except in rental cars, out of convenience.

    • +1

You have another vent to use.

    • Because people who mount their phones usually also have bluetooth and nav on while also charging. The phone can get hot.

    • +4

I live in the Top End and use a vent mount.

Suction cups fall off because it's too hot, glue melts because it's too hot, phone overheats because it's too hot.

Vent mount keeps the phone cool and mounted. There's a bit of air still getting to me out of that vent as well as all the air from the other one.

I always find these type of phone holder (which fits in air vent) tend to stay loose and drop off sooner or later.
Can anyone comment on this specific model - are they good to fit in air vent of Santa Fe and remain stable?

    • As long as your vent isn’t circular with curved blades, this will be fine. The hook can adjust to different depth blades

I have the AliExpress version, which is US$3

    • I have multiple magsafe LISEN vent mount chargers with the same base, they work really well - the longest I have had one on is just over 12 months and I have never had to adjust/tighten it from the initial fitting, which took a couple of goes to get right (right height on the vent, correct tightness)

  • Does this one works good for tesla model y?

    • +5

      No, it still gets vandalised

    Amazon reviewer:

This phone holder broke the fin on the air vent in my car! This phone holder is no good for large phones!!

Anyone broke their car air vent fins by this type of car phone holders?

    • +1

      Yep, snapped mine

    • +1

Nope. Been using it for about a year and no dramas. Obviously the other person screwed it in too tight or had flimsy vents.

    • Hello? Are vents design to support that weight & accidental bumps?

    • Yes, have snapped two fins on two separate vents, but it was my fault due to overtightening it. I now use windscreen suction mounts just to be safe.

    • Been using one with the hook but it's a magnet, for 3 years. No issues at all. Ymmv though as I wasn't aware snapping air vent fins was a thing prior to this post. Maybe they're over tightened?

  • +4

Vent mount, especially the kind with tightening hook, is not recommended for older cars, because the plastic becomes brittle over time and it was not originally designed to withstand that kind of pressure, had snapped vents on a 2010 Toyota.

Suction cup mount works surprisingly well on relatively flat dash or windscreen, and it doesn't block air flow or obstruct buttons.

    • +1

My only concern with suction cups on dashes is the possibility of permanent marks.

Hi OP - I seem to be charged $34.49 for https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0DWLR4MWS

The price for the holder is $68.99 and 50% is coming at $34.49 instead of $29.49?

    • +1

The full price has gone up so 50% is now $34.49

  • why this Suction Cup Phone Mount is so expensive?

  • +2

I just got reasonable suction cup mount from Kmart for 8.50

    • After arguing with my wife that I need an expensive one, I let her buy me the K-mart vent one. It's been just as good as my Spigen was, had it a couple of years and hasn't broken yet.

  • The vent mount doesn't work in my Corolla. The vent is too far back.

  • Thanks OP, good deal.

  • Careful with these holders that double as a wireless charger. Woke up the next morning to a flat battery :/

    • Fortunately these aren't wireless chargers. It does sound like your car socket continues to draw power even when the car is off.

  • I can't get the suction version for the price listed here, it shows as $34.99 instead. Camel says the price has never changed either.

  • too late… gone

    • Both codes are still showing for me?

      • I added to the cart but quantity turns to 0 not allowing to checkout.

  • im after window mount but am done with any holder that doesnt charge my phone (im that lazy) - and this holder needs to be charged itself each month to stay stuck - preposterous!
