This Dewalt angle grinder is my all time favourite tool…

    • Cant tell, Is this sarcasm? The tool no good?

      • No sarcasm, I love it, no complaints at all…

  • So you can redeem 2 x 5.0A Batteries and the Angle Grinder Skin?.
    How do you redeem them?

    • +1

Batteries they'll give you at purchase in-store. The angle grinder you need to redeem through the website linked in the OP.

    • i had to show them the bunnings listing on my phone before they gave me the batteries in store

      • Same here, plus they charged me $0.01 per free battery on my receipt, $550.02 total!

  • Thanks for sharing OP. Only want the drill and impact driver. By the time I sell the other pieces and claim the $100 gift card will be verging on free!

    • Drill and impact are the bits I don't want! Any chance you're in/near Melbourne?

Or anyone else in VIC want to go splitsies?

      • Sorry mate. I’m in Perth

  • Great deal! This new DeWalt XR series is amazing - it's the DCD1007 Brushless, which I've been eyeing off. Went and bought this kit just then - the guy infront of me at the checkout was getting the exact same deal as well :)

Got a response from Bunnings GC redemption team

Unfortunately, you are not eligible for a Bunnings e-gift card due to the below reason:
Purchase total does not meet the required spend band

WTF? $550.02 is greater than the $500 threshold. And I thought eBay CS was not good…

    • +1

I got the same message. Better take a screenshot of the website before they change it

    • +1

Yeah that is concerning. I have bought a kit but yet to collect. They will have to honour them surely.

    • +1

They don’t seem to communicate the promotions to the staff or the latter don’t bother to read memos. I.e. I had to show them the bonus battery ad in order to claim as they were not aware. They don’t know how to enter the promotion in the receipt so they charged me $0.01 each instead. When I asked about the giftcard, they said that promotion has ended (well the previous one did) till I show them the Bunnings Dewalt gift card web page… and these are the staff working inside the tools section, not some random one walking around.

      • +1

Can you get a staff member to issue gift card in store or do they only do it via a redemption afterward?

        • +1

It’s by redemption on their web site. I asked the tools staff anyway to confirm but turned out they knew nothing.

          • +1

@Buy2Much: Hopeless aren’t they! Hopefully you can get the issue with your gift card resolved. Good luck

    • I got the same message… Rejected redemption request.

    • +1

Received same, I’ve emailed back my receipt and a copy of their t & c’s, fingers crossed.

      • Fingers crossed! Let us know how it goes

    • I actually purchased a day before the Gift Card promo started and missed out on $100 card. Sad face.

      • +1

You could do the buy another and return using old receipt trick. I missed out on redeeming with the multi tool as well.

        • +1

Yep, just make sure not to exchange it, return the older one and buy a new one again.

If yoy exchange it, it will show oaid through a voucher on the receipt and the spend will show as 0.

    • +1

same msg, no idea what happened to it.

  • +1

We've had an issue processing your request. Please try again in a few moments.

    • +1

Unable to claim $100 from Bunnings website form

  • +2

For anyone buying this kit. The register should make a poker machine noise when scanned to notify the bunnings worker to add on the promotion batteries. Unless they are completely useless, it should be a painless experience now hopefully.

Hopefully Bunnings fixes the gift card redwmption issues. Shouldn't be any reason why they wouldn't honour it.

    • +1

It literally took five employees to figure out how to process the instant free batteries. Apparently only some people in tool shop get trained how to do it.

      • +1

The two guys in the tools section ended up entering $0.01 for each bonus battery because they did not know what else to do. I was not going to waste my time to argue over 2 cents or waiting for them to figure out… It is not the first time Bunnings run bonus promotions or gift cards offer, one would think Bunnings would have a process or instructed their staff already…

  • +1

I rang their customer support this morning regarding the gift card rejection. They had a look and said it looked like it was eligible and it was potentially a glitch in their system. Apparently they have been getting a lot of complaints. They had to send it to the redemption team who only work M-F but hopefully will be resolved.

    • This is great news.

  • +1

“Unfortunately, you are not eligible for a Bunnings e-gift card due to the below reason:
Brands/items purchased are not one of the selected brands applicable for this redemption”

    Going to return

  • +1

I purchased 2x kits before the promo period from two bunnings. One for work and one for home. The staff are either incompetent or they don’t get told how to run these promotions and are neither interested in listening to the customer who may know more about these promos.
It Took half an hour each time.
Bunnings need a good wake up call. The monopolistic uncompetitive landscape of hardware retail they operate in is very detrimental to the end consumer pockets. Lot of these tools retail for less than half price in US dollar adjusted terms.
    End of rant.

    • +2

I think TTI is a major part of the problem. They have made sure their brands are distributed in a way that effectively rules out the big tool retailers from competing, so no price beats/price matching and no competition.

AEG and Ryobi are exclusive to Bunnings, while Milwaukee is stocked at Total Tools, Sydney Tools, Tool Kit Depot but not Bunnings. They have been fined to the tune of $15mil in the past for anti-competitive practices. But they still get away with it because Bunnings exclude other businesses of their own groups from price matching/beating. TTI's fine was partly due to them withdrawing stock from retailers who tried to discount it.

Part of it is also because we are taken as mugs who will pay top dollar for anything and everything as long as it's marketed. And our tradies being better paid than places like USA likely also means companies like TTI and SBD charging like wounded bulls because a tradie needs a tool when the previous one breaks, they don't have time to hunt and wait for bargains.

Case in point, the Milwaukee Gen 4 impact driver is US$149 in the USA. With GST added, it should be like $260 here. Even $300 would be fine. But it sells here for $462 for the skin only…like WTF/GTFO.

  • How come it says $699 on the website?

  • In store Bibra Lake still scanning as $550 as of 1 hour ago even though website was showing $699.

  • In store in Mernda also scanned as 550

    • +1

no point buying if bunnings does not fix their gift card redemption issue

  • Any update on GC redemptions?

    • Still waiting to hear back

  • +5

Email from Bunnings, basically give them 5 biz days before they can confirm/send GC:

Thank you for reaching out regarding your Spend and Get Redemption. We apologise for the delayed response; our team are currently working through a significant increase in email queries at present.

It seems there have been some issues processing these claims, and on our website which have since been fixed.

This has been resubmitted with the details you have provided below, and I can see this submission has gone through successfully.

The confirmation email should come through shortly and the gift card (if all information is correct and the transaction is eligible) should come through within five business days.

    • Received my GC email just now.

  • +1

Anyone with rejected claims, resubmit them, they are now approving.

    • yeah, just got mine.

      • Are you guys getting a confirmation email?
I just get a form was submitted successful but no confirmation email.

        • confirm email received just after form submitted, and gf card email was hours late.

          • @kayndev: Oh thank you, I've submitted it a few times but didn't get confirmation email. Probably need to email them

            • @Bluey123: Did it last night and got email this arvo. It seems a bit random atm.

  • Has anyone recieved an update from Dewalt regarding the Grinder redemption?

    • no it takes up to 60 days and it is Australia…so …longer maybe :)

    • Apart from email confirmation-do not expect to hear from them. You will need to be around to receive the package otherwise they will send it back to depot for you to collect.

  • +3

For anyone still waiting for the $100 GC from Bunnings, chat to their live online support, they will ask you for all the details and within an hour you should have the GC in your email. The redemption was still not working via the website however support claimed it has been working all week.

    • thanks hotrod - will give live online support a go

    • I put in for the redemption twice and all looked good on the website but heard nothing. Called them yesterday and they said they would look into it. Got an email stating:

"We have searched in our system, and we cannot find your submission for this receipt. This has been resubmitted with the details you have provided below, and I can see this submission has gone through successfully."

A few minutes later I got the email with successful the redemption details. Had I not called them I would have got nothing.

      • i got the confirmation email minutes after calling them today - so calling them is the only way to go it seems - the gal on the line knew about the dewalt offer and the problem straight away

      • What’s the contact number mate… online chat always show busy

  • +3

This ended up being a ripper deal. I didn't need the two extra 5ah batteries or fast charger - already sold these for $200. Already have a grinder too - so will sell that and should get $150-$200 for that. Given the Bunnings GC brings the cost of the purchase down to $450 it will end up only costing $50-100 for the two top of the range drills, 6ah Flexvolt battery, 5ah standard battery, and Tstak storage case. Thanks OP!

  • It’s been three days since I received the confirmation for my gift card submission, but I still haven’t received the gift card. Has anyone received theirs after the confirmation email? How long did it take? Thanks!

    • received mine about an hour after confirmation - probably give them a call?

  • anyone received the grinder? they told me it was ready to be send last week now told me it is going to be a few months wait

    • Recieved mine last week. Two separate redemptions but shipped together.

      • lucky

    • dont even have a ready to deliver email

      • +1

they dnt send it out. they dnt send tracking . I had to call them to find out it is going to be a few months delay
