Just wondering if I buy a Kogan eSIM, if I still need to wait for the physical SIM to arrive before I can activate it?

If you opt for an esim, you wont receive a physical sim. The esim will be emailed to you.

Did you choose the physical SIM option or eSIM option when you purchased your plan?
If you chose the physical SIM, you won't be able to set up an eSIM unless you purchase a replacement eSIM for $2.
I believe there is also a recharge voucher option, in which case you won't be sent a physical SIM or eSIM and will need to purchase one for $2 if you need one.

Activated a Kogan eSIM recently. It arrived within minutes of purchase. Set it up the next day without issue.

Did it for someone else. But basically, I selected eSIM when I purchased. eSIM arrived as a QR code. Separately a voucher code arrived for the selected plan. Scanned the QR code to add the sim. At this point the sim is not active. Then followed the instructions in the email to activate the sim. When prompted to select a plan I added the voucher code. Selected to bring the existing number over. Put in all the required ID and followed the prompts to the end. Minutes later the eSIM was active.

Can you transfer old mobile number into eSim? I read you must get a new number when getting eSim?
Yes, you can.
eSIM comes with a new number. Opt to port in your old number when activating the eSIM.
Can the $2 esim receive sms? Or do I need to recharge or add a plan?
Why don't you ask Kogan ?
