ALITOVE COB LED Strip 5m LED Strip
Density 480 LED/M Flexible Light
Not Waterproof IP30
8 mm Width
2400 LEDs for DIY Interior Decoration
(Without Power Supply and Dimmer)

They have a a recommended power but I just got Amazon's best seller for $16.
https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0CRGGVLZ6

They also have an all in one with power supply included dimmable lights trip, but it has half the LEDs, might be good for mood lighting.

I just this for my office at home, around the back and corners of my floating cupboards and it gives nice light for working underneath away from the room lights.

Last pair I got was $20ish, so some saving for anyone looking at getting some.

  • Looks pretty good. Could you connect this up to a USB-C PD with a barrel plug ?

    • +1

You could With a "USB-C PD Trigger Board" (google it)
May as well just get a 12v wall wart tho…
Unless you have lots of 60w usb PD adapters already.

  • Any guidance on how to hook this up with a home assistant capable controller alongside a motion sensor? Thinking of installing in a walk in robe.

    • +2

If you’re just switching that strip for when you walk in , prob easier to just get a ‘dumb’ sensor?

      • You're right.. I've over complicated this!

I got this one, without realising it was less LED's. Probably actually explains why the included power supply is only 3A. Bought some strip joiners as well (from a different seller).

Plenty bright enough on full power for what we need. Will probably rarely be on full brightness, so not too concerned about the lower LED count.

The included sticky back is barely adequate, though, and with the vast majority of double-sided tape, it's a real chore getting the tape off.

They cut well, and the joiners worked a treat.

This item replaced a neon light strip that died just after installing it. The neon strip had a more robust design, but that counts for nought if it fails. It failed at the power input.

  • Any option battery operated LED strip ?

  • comes up at $26 for me
