Officeworks price matched a phone that has a sale posted on allegedly a site they shouldn't have as they don't match sites that sell refurbished products according to the employee. They said yes initially over the phone then in store with some reluctance went through with the match anyway, minus the usual 5% off beat. Will this be of use to others if the receipt is posted? Can I follow up about the 5%? Original post/credit: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/893479

meh
Your lucky but certainly not the only one this has happened to , an agreed price over the phone and then in store , no deal . I must have looked like a raving lunatic but what do you do ⁉️You win some and lose more .
OW will price match bricks and mortar stores, where as Gerry will have to leave before HN will.
Glad to hear somebody got their price match. Sometimes you find a good employee who matches no fuss but the South Melbourne store wasted fifteen minutes of my time over a very small price match until I eventually walked out and went elsewhere. It was crazy because they had stock and decided they'd rather keep it than sell it to me at a reasonable price.
On the actual question, nah, don't post it. Leave it for the forums. OW is really really difficult with their price matches.
OW near me wouldn't match the site is found a pixel 8a on for $200 less than theirs, but the helpful young assistant and their manager did some searching while I was there and found it for $150 off at a site they could match for me. Some of them are definitely more helpful than others.
yes.
