Looking for a laser printer ~$150

been looking around at officeworks and JB hifi for a new printer for my house since the inkjet is just getting to old, but have no idea which 1 is the best, looking for a laser printer for around $150.

the Brother HL-3045Cn Colour Laser Led Printer at office works looked alright for $130 but not sure if a "LED" printer is good or not, any help would be appreciated.

also if theres any other places i should be checking for printers please let me know

  • so whats better a LED or a laser printer?, the wiki made it sound like LED is better.

preffer the printer that can print the better quality pictures

  • We sell a lot of different brands of laser printers where I work. I thoroughly recommend looking at a Samsung Network Printer. By far my personal favourite.

Something like the ML-2950ND would be perfect. We do them for $129 so you should be able to find them around where you are for that price. Duplex, network, MONO though.

If you want colour something like the CLP-365W for something like $194. No duplex but still network. I know $194 is more than $150, but believe me, spend more now, spend MUCH less on your first toner change.

Cheap printers have abhorrently expensive toners. Mistake everybody seems to make for some reason I don't understand.

The more you pay for a printer, the less you pay for toners as a general rule and the longer the printer will last.

What is the real price of the $150 printer if it last you a year, with 2 expensive toner changes compared to that $300 printer, with 1 cheaper set of toners changes, which lasts you 2-3 years?

    • so CLP-365W is the best option for a colour printer, any idea were i can find one of these's in sydney?

      • Try Bing Lee for $139 delivered, so within budget.

  • I have had both a brother colour laser (don't remember which one sorry) and a samsung colour laser (620ND). Really happy with the samsung - great colours, easy to use, automatic duplex. The brother died pretty quick and had electrical issues, plus one of the little plastic clips broke off straight away and so the door didn't shut and that gave it all sorts of problems - it did get a good work out though:) You might want to check out the size in person, they are huge! but worth it for me as I print stacks out and the ink lasts forever. You won't get the photo like prints that an inkjet can do, but still really nice images. Don't know anything about led though sorry. Make sure you price match with officeworks, they had the samsung at rrp and I saved about $500 through price match!
