The ACCC only says that gift cards must have a minimum expiry of three years (although there are some exclusions to this requirement).

I like this variable load cashback more, as i just calculate the total spend of my last months orders and order a giftcard to refund the original to the payment method. Wahoo

Yes, up to 30 days. Go to your receipts, and then select "Change payment method" and select the Uber Cash. It should refund to the original payment method.
Exactly as the other comment described. Find the total of all your orders from the past 30 days, buy a giftcard with that total and then you can change payment method on each order in the help section.
The option won't show unless you have enough giftcard balance to cover the order, in case you were wondering why it doesn't show for you as i was.

Yes, it is a common Wallet across both apps – Uber and Uber Eats.
Another thing is – you can even use such Gift Cards to pay for your past trips which you've already paid for (by Card/etc.) by going to the ride history and selecting to change the Payment Method (if it allows).
Usually the expiry is just for the code. Once it’s in your account it won’t expire.
