In the last few years I think I've used my fronk like 10-20 times… Most of the time was adding the washing liquid… plenty of room in the boot
Its a nice to have but wont get 500+ worth of use for me :)
We use our frunk all the time - for transporting food (takeaway / prepared food / leftovers), to avoid smells in the cabin.
If they made an auto open/close for our car, I would definitely consider it for $500! (Ours unlocks and pops open via fob, but has to be lifted manually).

Love using the frunk for takeaway food or putting the wet swimware/towels after the beach. It is easy enough to open with the struts and I can't justify this cost for the amount of times I use it.
I installed the soft close only version from aliexpress. Probably around $120 at that time. I very much started using the frunk very frequently. Particularly with anything that has strong smell or even charging wires. As a MY owner since 2023, i would have bought the automatic close version if I had to do it all over again. Definitely worth the investment.

I have neighbour who owns a model y, every time I greeted him, he takes time to come to my front yard and start praising abt his car and tells me what new features he got from his latest software update which was so annoying, and worst thing is he named his car as spacex and always quotes by it's name. 😭
Have you considered moving to a classier neighbourhood?
Auto frunk would actually be useful but is it 500+install useful… idk..
