Any Way to Stay on Old Price While Renewing Microsoft 365 Family

Last year, I paid $97.30 for the M365 Family.

This year, they are asking me $125.30 to renew the subscription, which includes the Co-pilot thingy, which does not interest me at all. I tried the route of cancelling the subscription to be able to access the M365 Family Classic (without co-pilot). However it is being offered at $139, i.e., more than the cost of the renewal with co-pilot.

Is there anyway I can renew the subscription for less than the renewal fee - would love to still be able to access the $97.30 price.

Cheers.

dayum, you guys buy ms office.
i dont buy it, but isnt it at least included with ur work or school?

try look for a perpetual licence if u dont like subscribing and dont need the latest and greatest
    example:

It would have worked if it were a single family member using it. I have 4 members of family who require MS Office. So it is not a one size fits all…

      • have a look at allkeyshop

With the family plan it works out to not much per year per person, and you get 1TB of one drive each.

  • I'm in the same boat, OP. I'd love to keep my $97.30 but from my research you can't drop copilot without paying even more which is theft imo.

Google Docs, Sheets, etc. is better anyway. Otherwise just use the cloud versions of MS Word, Excel, etc. they’re also free.

    • I have some older family members who use it. They receive excel files on emails. They will not understand uploading it to cloud.

I also need Dev mode and Excel add-ons. They are not supported on cloud version of M365.

    Libreoffice?

Imagine a world where every paying Office user migrated and donated $5 per year to Libre.

I believe I got the same price by using my works HOU program, see if yours offers it too!

Just google "The Microsoft Workplace Discount Programme" then you enter your work email and they'll send you a email to confirm if you're eligible.

    • That's how I got it originally. Issue is that the only way to access the M365 Family Classic subscription is via the cancellation route.

If you go via the workplace discount, you get a 30% discount on the full price of $179, which works out to $125.30, which is what my renewal is already at.

Wish there were a way to purchase Family Classic via workplace discount programme.

  • For some reason I don't pay for my MS Office 365 on my personal laptop at all, and I have no freaking idea why, other than the fact that I might have used my work email when I first registered to use it, on my PERSONAL machine.
