What will stop me getting my cashback

  • Cashback is ineligible on price-matched bookings, or if payment is made partially or in full with any Expedia credit, including good will credit.
  • Cashback is ineligible on flights, rail, cruises, travel insurance, taxes, fees.
  • Cashback is ineligible on use of any codes not approved and posted by TopCashback.
  • Cashback is ineligible on use of gift cards for payment and/or purchase of gift cards.
  • Cashback is ineligible on purchases made via the retailer's mobile app.

What else is essential

  • Engaging with plugins such as Honey, AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole, VPNs, and browsers such as Brave may prevent your order from tracking.
  • Cashback will be approved up to 95 days after you've completed your stay.
  • You must always return to TopCashback and click the pink cashback button through to the retailer's website for each new transaction. Ensure the TopCashback link is the last one used to visit the retailer's website prior to completing your purchase.
  • Any accounts that engage in fraudulent orders/activities to game/cheat the cashback system will be banned and cashback forfeited.

Good to know

  • Most retailers calculate cashback based on purchase amount excluding GST, other taxes, and delivery fees. Your cashback may report lower than expected due to this.
  • If an order is cancelled / returned / exchanged / modified, it will no longer be eligible for cashback and will be declined in your account.
  • To be eligible for cashback, all transactions must be completed solely & wholly online and must not be assisted/negotiated via phone/chat/email. Failure to do so will cause tracking to fail and/or have cashback declined.

    I've had two claims with this mob. Exetel and lenovo. Neither have tracked (never had a problem with any other cb company).

    Exetel expired and lenovo the missing claim is 60-90 review window.

    Pretty sketchy for them to just take the $70 from Exetel and possibly the $150 from lenovo and run off with it.

      Sorry to hear. When your orders don't track, TopCashback would not have been paid the cashback by Exetel or Lenovo.

      I also bought from Exetel and Lenovo via TopCashback. Fortunately they tracked and cashback has been paid after a few months. I haven't used Cashrewards or ShopBack for those 2 merchants.

      I use the 3 cashback sites in the last few years but have had non-tracking and missing cashback claims with all 3 of them. All my cashback claims have been paid. With my recent dealings, I find TopCashback to provide the best service from the rep tightarse.

      You are typically going to have same result no matter what cash back site you use. As trixieb suggested, contacting the rep on here is a good idea. I have plug- ins on my computer browsers so they don't always track, i find that my phone tends to work better in terms of tracking.

      Some browsers have adblockers built in or have 3rd party cookies disabled. These settings interfere with tracking.

    Make sure you check prices from other travel sites, I usually find that Expedia is significantly more expensive than booking direct (and often more expensive than other booking sites.

    My exp of using Topcashback on an Iphone. I used the app, clicked through to Expedia and the first thing I was prompted with was a warning that tracking wouldnt occur through the Expedia app.. Weird OK. I continue on and choose "Use Web" when the option pops up. It then looks exactly like the app, at which point I click out because there are too many variables for this tracking to go wrong. Back to CR/SB

      In the post description and T&Cs:

      Cashback is ineligible on purchases made via the retailer's mobile app.

      I would pause or uninstall the Expedia app. Your order may also not track when you use the Expedia app.

      T&Cs are usually from the merchant and would apply to all the cashback sites. This term about not using the retailer's mobile app is quite common with several retailers.

        Did bookings via SB/Booking.com the day before via respective apps and seems to be tracked OK? Not sure

          Booking.com doesn't appear to have that term. Cashrewards also state cashback is ineligible via Expedia's mobile app.
