G'day.
I'm in need of a couple of Ryobi 18V batteries.
Has anyone successfully used non Ryobi branded Batteries?

Or just buy genuine?
Thanks.

Thank-you for your feedback.
I've ordered one just now a 4.0ah 18v compatible battery.
Consider getting an adaptor so you can use Ozito batteries with Ryobi tools.
Then the batteries will be cheaper than Ryobi but still covered by a 3 year warranty in store at Bunnings.
Thanks. I have looked into the adapter. Around $30 or so.
fyi adapters may melt if on high current for a long time (lawnmower etc).
also.. ozito may not (or may) have the same current.. ie circular saw may not behave as well on one.. especially thru a dodge adapter.
but handy for low current/flexibility for sure.

Do you have a fire department that’s reasonable close by?
My (and my dad's) generic batteries were total garbage. Mine are definitely around 60% of legit capacity, and his were maybe 20%. He literally has a giant battery labelled 8Ah and it lasts about the same time as the 2.5Ah
The only generics I recommend are Waitley on aliexpress.. they are built very well.. typically using liitokala cells.. last packs I tested had 10% more aH than advertised. (they don't make ryobi though.)
yea i used some generic 9000mAh ones from ebay, they are coming up to 2 years old this week, does fine and I use them daily with the workshop hand vac, and on weekends use it with the blower, hedge trimmer and pressure washer .
many here say generics are rip offs and exaggerate by a huge margin the actual capacity…
