Need a M.2 and a SSD or HDD

Hey I am building a high end pc, and needed some support with what ssd and m.2 ssd to get.

1) 2Tb M.2 SSD - need 1 for for boot and games/programs

What I could find a good option is Samsung 990 pro 2tb for $238

2) 2tb ssd/HDD I also need another one for downloads, documents and so on so basically for dumping stuff.

What I am looking at was evo 860 2tb, I was originally looking at HHD but they end up very close to the same price so why not just get a SSD.

I do also have a WD Black SN770 going into pc as well for games and programs.

Please help thanks

    • What about the SSD/HHD?
Also how is it in terms of performance, gaming and speed drop?

        What about the SSD/HHD?

You no longer need it. Partition the 4TB or keep it as-is as one volume if you prefer.

Also how is it in terms of performance, gaming and speed drop?

It's an up to 5000MB/s drive. Significantly faster than any SATA SSD (the EVO860 is only 550 MB/s) and miles ahead of any HDD (30-150 MB/s). You will see no real world benefit of a 7000MB/s or higher M.2 drive.

There's a lot of spec snobs around, especially those that don't actually own anything, just want to compare and vent online. There's over 15,000 positive reviews on Amazon.

Edit: Okay, I didn't realise you were looking at spending $6,000 on a computer. I refuse to believe anyone that really needs a 9950X3D doesn't know the difference between SSDs & HDDs.

High end? Looks very consumer. Where is your ECC RAM and redundant power supplies?
