If you are an IT/IT related student then student membership of the ACM is a pretty good deal. For USD$19 you get access to:

  • 500 online books from Books24x7 (can't download but cheaper than buying)
  • 3,000 courses from SkillSoft
  • online magazines
  • MS software (might be be the same as Dreamspark - I'm not a student so can't test)

I joined as a graduate student when there was a lot less on offer and it was good value then but it is even better now for students. Once you have graduated it is a lot more expensive <sigh>

    Not that I'm eligible for this now, but would be even better if their digital library was included in the package for $19! ;)

      Yes it would be a lot better. It's USD$42 to join with the ACM digital library included. However before forking out the cash it is a good idea to check whether your Uni library provides access - ours does :-)
