"Philips has 80+ years of expertise in air care. "

Not the OP's fault, but misleading. This is now produced by a Chinese brand, Versuni, nothing to do with Philips who just sold off the rights to use the brand a few years back.

    • Ah interesting - I looked previously when I purchased these last time and I thought they were still their own thing. But turns out I didn't look further than the short summary in the search results, here is what is said from Wikipedia:

Versuni (formerly Philips Consumer Lifestyle) is a privately-owned Dutch company, headquartered in Amsterdam, which produces consumer electronics and small appliances. Formerly a subsidiary of Dutch electronics conglomerate Philips, it was sold to Chinese private equity firm Hillhouse Investment in 2021.

Having said all that, I have 2 of the devices and they work well for what they are meant to do, the app is good but connection to the units themselves is painfully slow. I ended up setting up a schedule for them to automatically turn on at night, so I don't touch the app any more.

    • Also, not always a good record with consumers:

  • Whats the replacement filter costs and availability of this.model?

I can't speak to a comparison, but here are a couple of other options:
    Instant Pot AP200 $79.94 or AP300 $168.99 shipped

1000i is the older model. We just got a couple of these https://www.amazon.com.au/Philips-PureProtect-Mini-Smart-Pur…, 900i model, just release. Its now at $219, … your choice.

Pretty happy with it, detects dust when kids jumps up and down, or when cooking smell comes through. get 3200 for larger room or even 4200i.

  • I saw this is the same price at Bing Lee.

They’ve also got the smaller model Ac0650 which I find better for a small room. It doesn’t take up as much space and easier to hide

  • Also 199 at Bing Lee: https://www.binglee.com.au/products/air-purifier-1000i-78sqm…

You might be able to use this to get a price match at a local store and get it cheaper

  • Can you get decent cheap filters from Ali Express?

  • Using the 1000i at home. Loving it!
